Improve your trade show results by writing articles

It is well-known among internet marketers that writing and distributing articles is one of the best and least expensive ways to promote products and services to a very wide audience. If you are involved in trade show or event marketing, you can use this technique to very effectively support your event marketing efforts.

**Supporting your trade show marketing with articles**

Let's say you are a wedding photographer who shoots weddings within a radius of about 150 miles of your office or home. You are selective about which weddings you will shoot because, quite frankly, some pay better than others. So you are interested in reinforcing your carefully developed image. Your image is of a photographer who does work that is more creative and of higher quality than what you get from the average wedding photographer.

One of the successful methods you use to promote your services is to enter two or three specialty wedding trade shows held every year in different cities within your target area. Because these shows are geared specifically towards couples who want "something special" (that is, they are prepared to spend more money), they help you reach the "better than average" clientele you are after.

**A perfect opportunity to reinforce your special image**

This is a perfect scenario for reinforcing your image by writing and publishing articles about wedding photography. Of course you have to be careful that your articles don't sound blatantly self-promoting. Most article marketers suggest your articles contain interesting, general information that can stand apart from the fact that you just happen to be providing the services you are writing about.

For instance, you might write an article called "Do Something Different with Your Wedding Photos", where you describe some different techniques and locations that might be used. Or "Wedding Photography Over the Last 50 Years", or "Should Your Photographer Choose Your Wedding Outfits?", or "5 Secret Locations to Shoot Your Wedding Photos", or "Perils of a Wedding Photographer".

There is really no limit to the number of original and interesting stories you could can come up with if you just use your imagination.

A good article marketing campaign will consist of at least three or four articles written and distributed just before the peak periods in your marketing cycle. If you are trying to reinforce your trade show marketing, make sure you prepare your articles well before the trade shows you are entering.

**How to distribute your articles**

Your objective is to use these articles to create an identity for yourself at the same time as getting yourself lots of free publicity. The more places you distribute your articles, the more prospective customers you will reach, so don't be timid about getting your articles out there.

The obvious place to start is by posting them on your own website. Create an article section and mix in articles from other (non-competing) writers. This will make your website a more valuable resource for your prospective customers, and it will enhance your image in their eyes.

Second, consider distributing your article to the local print media. If it is interesting enough -- and not just a self-promotion -- some of them will very likely publish it. The important thing is to find an interesting angle. Think in terms of their readers and write for them. Some media will even have special sections -- weddings, home renovations, automobiles, outdoor, sports -- that you can contribute to.

Third, if you are entering trade shows, send your material to the trade show organizers. They may publish a show program and may be looking for interesting material that helps make their program appear more substantial.

**Distribution on the internet**

If you are catering to local customers you may think the internet is overkill. But you would be wrong. If you are trying to reach prospects in, say, the Lexington area, make sure you write your article so the search engines know your service focuses on the Lexington area. They will do a great job getting you exposure for searches like "wedding photography Lexington", "Lexington auto detailing", or "kitchen renovators in Lexington".

Distribute your articles to as many key article websites on the internet as you can find. This will do three things for you. First, a lot of people will read your articles on these sites. Second, other sites interested in your subject matter will republish your article, exposing it to an even wider audience. And third, the major search engines will analyse and index your article and it will start appearing in searches.

**Using a professional article writing service**

You may not feel comfortable writing your own articles, and you may think it is much too time consuming to do your own distribution. That's when you should look for a reliable service to do both of these things for you. You might be surprised to find out how many writers and promoters there are out there ready to go to work for you.

Look for a service that has a solid track record. They should be able to show you writing examples, and they should be able to give you a very good idea where they intend to distribute your articles. As with most other specialized services you will probably find it is a lot more efficient to let a professional do it for you than to try to do it yourself.

Fat farm - all the myths about it

The term “fat farm”, as also with the term “fat camp”, carries with it a decidedly pejorative tone, but does that mean the concept behind them is bad? Indisputably not, as it turns out. As long as the participant is attending of their own free will, the idea behind these weight loss resorts and camps is wonderful, and well worth considering for anyone having difficulty shedding those unwanted pounds.

The difference between a weight loss camp (or fat camp) and a weight loss resort (or fat farm) is simple: the former is for children and teens, the latter for adults. Both provide accommodations, fresh and delicious supervised meals, trained health and fitness professionals on staff (usually including a health clinic or at least a nurse on premises), and lots of supervised exercise.

Most weight loss camps for kids and teens include nutrition classes, supervised aerobic activities, and regular weigh-ins, and report an average weekly weight loss ranging from 2 to 6 pounds. Camp Shane one such weight loss camp, one of the more popular ones, and it emphasizes developing improved physical skills that campers can carry back home into their regular lives. Another such camp, Camp Empire Lake, eschews the whole idea of weigh-ins altogether, equating them with the defeatist attitudes like guilt and shame that get in the way of being happy in whatever body campers currently live in.

Weight loss resorts for adults add to this mix of elements more advanced and esoteric methods of weight loss, like yoga, acupuncture, and meditation. Many also employ medical professionals, nutritionists, life coaches, and physical therapists available for participants to consult. Some resorts even hold hands-on workshops in the kitchen, teaching attendees how to cook more healthy and balanced meals for themselves.

What all these short-term homes-away-from-home for young and old alike really provide, however, far more than a little structure and supervision to a person’s day, is the supportive and encouraging environment of a group of people all dedicated to the same goal of losing weight. In a world where overweight people are besieged by outside judgment, these weight loss resorts and camps provide an atmosphere free of judgment, where a person is valued for who they are and encouraged to be all the desire to be.

Taking a break from everyday society to be surrounded by other people with weight issues of their own is one of the safest ways imaginable to face your own weight issues head on.

MTV shed a bright light on this phenomenon with its acclaimed documentary feature Fat Camp: An MTV Docs Movie Presentation. The movie follows 5 teens as they attend Camp Pocono Trails in the Poconos, Pennsylvania. The show received such widespread attention and acclaim that it airs its second season (following 5 new teams and their experiences at the same camp) starting November, 2007.

As all captivating drama should, the MTV Fat Camp doc highlights the thrills of victory and the agonies of defeat. But the real fat camps and fat farms aren’t about victory or defeat. Their about support and encouragement. About loving who you are so much that it finally starts to show in how you look.

How poor credit secured loan will benefit you

In this day and age, the time flies so fast that no one has time to reflect upon what happened in the past. The principles for the poor credit secured loans are laid on a similar thinking philosophy. Basically poor credit secured loans are loans which are offered to people who have had problems in tackling the process of loan repayments, which resulted in them being classified as being ones with poor credit history.

People with poor credit history are generally classified as people who are CCJ holders, IVA holders, defaulters, people in arrears or people who have filled for bankruptcy. The people are classified as ones with poor credit based on their credit score or their credit rating, which is indicative of their financial credit worthiness.

People with these backgrounds find it difficult to arrange a loan for themselves, and that is because of the lack of reliability that can be associated with the people who have poor credit history. Poor credit secured loans however, is one such option that is available to people with that credit history.

Poor Credit Secured Loan has the same features that any other secured loan would have; the only difference between the two loans is that the poor credit secured loans may come at a higher interest rate than the other secured loans. The rest of the features, such as, the terms of repayment, the amount of loan that can be borrowed, the amount of monthly installments are all in the hands of the borrower, as to what extent can he negotiate with the lenders of the loan.

The only disappointing aspect of the poor credit secured loan is that only people who are with any asset can apply for this loan and people who do not have any asset will have to look elsewhere for any loans. However, that is a topic for another discussion.

People who want to apply for the poor credit secured loan can do so by going online and submitting their request for the same. However, before that they must make sure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria and submit their required documents, the most important of which is the one related to the credit score. If the borrowers do not have that with them, they can get it recalculated by any of the credit rating agencies of UK, namely Transunion, Experian or Equifax. Once this is done the loan decision will be made in a few working days for the borrowers.

Online dating - how to tell if the website is genuine

Online dating services are big business, pulling in over 3 million members on over 1000 online dating websites through out the internet. Over 17 million hits were recorded in 2002, with 15,000 new users logging on each day. But after spending your evenings surfing these sites and in chat rooms, how do you know if the site you've chosen is a reputable site where you can find a real mate?

There are over 100 free online dating services, which can attract people who aren't committed to being a site member and following through with the rules that the site set up. A good rule of thumb is that reputable online dating sites will charge you monthly for becoming a member. This isn't necessarily true of all dating services online, but it’s a good idea to keep in mind. Online dating personals that consist mostly of chat rooms and instant messages can be a wary place to be as well. (Pay attention to the screen names these people chose!)

Take a good look at pictures sent from online dating services. Look for things in the background which could mean the sender is being deceptive, (like a picture of him leaning on a Rolls Royce with a dealership flyer in the background…) and choose a site that asks for your zip code which verifies that there are actually people in your area registered with their site. Also, choose a site with a detailed profile; it will be well worth your time because it will be used to narrow down the response list.

Another online dating tip for choosing the best sites, go with a popular one, even if it means higher membership rates. Popular online dating websites are already proven websites, and for the money, why not go with a site that is already successful?

Buying a watch as a gift

A nice quality designer watch will be a much appreciated by either gender. A fine quality designer watch will always make a big impression.

Tak the time to consider some of our suggestions and this will go a long way to helping you make the right choice.

The first thing you need to do is do a little research to discover what the person likes.

Consider your options: gold, white gold, silver, platinum, stainless steel, leather bands, etc.

Each of these options has its own style and makes its own statement. Take the time to choose the one most fitting for the recipient.

Select a basic watch style. General watch types include the mechanical wind-up types, self-winding and quartz, which are powered by batteries.

Look for extra features, such as a built-in calendar, an appointment alarm, a heartbeat monitor, etc. Have fun customizing the watch to the recipient's specific lifestyle.

Shop only within your price range, watches can run upward of $10,000, so set a range first and then limit your shopping to your budget.

From complicated watches made for divers or trekkers to fashionable watches that do a bit more than tell time, sports watches are all the rage.

Opt for more advanced features if you know they will be used by the wearer. These can include altimeter, barometer, thermometer, compass and data-link features.

Choose a sport-specific watch if you know what sports the recipient enjoys. These include specialized watches for divers, runners, surfers, etc.

Be sure the band will fit comfortably around the person's wrist. It should be somewhat adjustable.

Check the guarantee and return policies so that the watch can be returned if another model is desired.

Set the watch to the correct time prior to wrapping.

If the watch is quartz, include an extra battery wrapped as a present topper.

Preparing for your jamaican vacation

Have you always dreamed of vacationing in Jamaica? If you have, you don’t have to dream any longer. It has never been easier to plan and prepare for a Jamaican vacation as it is today. Thanks to the internet and vacation packages, you can, literally, be on your way to Jamaica in no time at all.

If you are interested in planning a Jamaican vacation, you will soon find that you have a number of different options. One of the first decisions that you will have to make is who will plan your Jamaican vacation. When it comes to the planning of a vacation, there are many vacationers who rely on assistance from professional travel agencies and travel agents. While this is a good approach, did you also know that you can plan and prepare for your own Jamaican vacation? You can and if you are looking to truly have the vacation of your dreams, this is an approach that you may want to consider taking

One of the first steps that you should take, when planning for your next Jamaican vacation, is booking all of your vacation reservations. These reservations include those of airline reservations, hotel or resort stay reservations, a car rental, or other forms of on island travel. When making these types of vacation reservations, it is important that you make your travel arrangements as soon as possible, as Jamaica is a popular vacation destination. The earlier you make all of your reservations, the more likely it is that you will be able to stay at the Jamaican hotel or resort of your choices; thus improving your chances for having that “dream,” vacation.

In addition to making your airline reservations or your overnight accommodation reservations, it is also advised that you examine what you would like to do, when on a Jamaican vacation. This often includes outlining which Jamaican attractions you would like to visit or which Jamaican activities you would like to participate in. What you would like to do, while on a Jamaican vacation, is, perhaps, just as important as how you plan on getting to Jamaica or where you will stay when there. It is the attractions that you visit or the activities that you participate in that truly make or break a vacation.

Another way that you can plan or prepare for your next Jamaican vacation is by creating a budget for yourself. This is particularly important if you are vacationing on a budget. Even if you aren’t necessarily on a budget, there is a good chance that you do not want to spend any more money than you need to. Although it can be relatively hard to budget or plan for a vacation, in terms of expenses, it is more than possible to do. You can estimate the amount of money you would like to spend on souvenirs or the amount of money that you will have to spend on food and drinks. When researching activities that you would like to participate in or activities that you would like to visit, while in Jamaica, you can easily come up with accurate costs or even just estimated costs. This can be used to tell you how much a Jamaican vacation will cost or how much money you should bring along with you.

The above mentioned Jamaican vacation planning steps sound like a lot of work, don’t they? Of course, you can make all of your Jamaican vacation reservations independently, but you may want to take the time to examine Jamaican vacation packages, namely vacation packages that are designed for all-inclusive Jamaican vacations or super-inclusive Jamaican vacations. These types of vacation packages often include airline reservations, resort stays, on island travel arrangements, food, drinks, entertainment, as well as a number of other services; services that may include childcare or laundry care.

Due to the fact that many needed travel arrangements and amenities are included in the cost of a Jamaican all-inclusive vacation or a Jamaican super-inclusive vacation, you may be able to save yourself a considerable amount of time and stress by booking your next Jamaican vacation in the form of an all-inclusive vacation package or a super-inclusive vacation package. If you would like to do so or if you would at least like to further examine these time and money saving vacation packages, you will want to examine Superclubs. com. They are your one stop source for quality, yet affordable super-inclusive and all-inclusive Jamaican vacations.

Home remedies for baby eczema

If your baby is suffering from eczema, you know how uncomfortable the itchy and dry skin can be, not to mention the sore spots. Since eczema usually goes hand in hand with sensitive skin, treating it can be a bit of a challenge. Thankfully there are quite a few home remedies for baby eczema you can try.

Moisturize

Keeping baby's skin well moisturized should always be the first step in any eczema treatment. Use a natural aloe Vera lotion several times a day, especially after bathing baby. Reapply as often as need to keep baby's skin from drying out. Avoid any harsh cleansers and make sure baby is getting plenty to drink to moisturize from the inside out as well. Incidentally breastfed babies experience fewer and milder episodes of eczema.

Oatmeal Bath

When baby's skin gets very itchy, an oatmeal bath can be very soothing and help skin heal. Put two cups of oats in a food processor (or use a coffee grinder) and grind them into a powder. Add the oatmeal powder to a running bath of warm (not hot) water and stir well. Soak in the oatmeal bath for 15 minutes, rinse with clean water and dab the skin dry with a soft towel. When baby's eczema breakouts are bad, it is safe to sooth them with an oatmeal bath twice daily.

Natural Skin Wash

As mentioned above, you want to avoid any harsh skin care for baby. The following natural skin wash is very gently and helps with the itch. Combine 1 tsp of comfrey root, 1 tsp of white oak bark, 1 tsp of slippery elm bark and two cups of water in a bowl. Mix well, and then pour it into a pot. Heat over medium heat until it comes to a boil, and then simmer for thirty minutes. Allow the mixture to cool, then strain out the solids and use the liquid like any face wash.

While this mixture may not completely clear up baby's eczema, it is a natural, gentle and effective cleanser that will help reduce the itching and inflammation.

Healing Lotions

When eczema really flares up, you want to get baby's skin healed back up as soon as possible. Healing lotions can help shorten the healing time and moisturize and protect your skin from future outbreaks at the same time.

Lotions to look for ate those made with blueberry leaves. Blueberry leaves are very good at relieving the inflammation of eczema and at improving the irritation that accompanies itching.

Zinc is another great ingredient. Apply zinc lotion directly on the affected area. Zinc can also be taken as a supplement in pills. Taking regularly, it can be an effective eczema treatment.

To help heal the skin, use a lotion containing vitamin E, or apply vitamin E oil directly on the affected area. It will quickly reduce itching and improve healing. Continue applying the vitamin E oil until the skin is healed.

This article is provided for information purposes only. Please consult your baby's health care provider before trying home remedies.

Making time for exercise

As a certified personal trainer and editor of a popular fitness site, FitnessGear101.com, I’ve heard every excuse in the book when it comes to why people don’t exercise. However, the one that takes the, pardon-my-pun, “fitness cake” is lack of time.

A day doesn’t go by without one of my clients professing that they simply don’t have time for exercise. Well, I’ve seen people who want to loose weight badly enough. They will restrict their diets, exercise rigorously for an hour a day and even swear off alcohol – gasp – and chocolate – double gasp! So, don’t give me that bull!

People shy away from exercise because they think they’ll have to spend hours in a gym. To maintain good health all you need is a healthy diet and a daily walk that can be broken up into increments throughout the day.

Still don’t believe me? I’ll show you how easy it is to fit brief walks into your day:

1) Is Sex and the City a rerun again? It breaks my heart when that happens. Why not go for a 30-minute walk. If it’s a new episode that you simply can’t miss, jump rope during commercials or run on the spot.

2) Does carting the kids to hockey or baseball cut into your exercise time? Take some inspiration from Jr. and stay on your feet during the game. You’ll get kudos for being the team’s best cheer leader, and your butt won’t expand to the size of the soccer field.

3) Are you dying to get your hands on the next best-seller? Buy it as a book-on-tape and take it walking with you. It might have you extending your stroll to finish a chapter.

4) Instead of a sumptuous brunch with the girls, try a brisk 30-minute walk with your BFF. Catching up on all the latest gossip can be just as delicious during a walk – plus it won’t tempt you to cheat on your healthy eating plan.

5) Remember when people used to “run” errands? Well many of us still take that term literally. The next time you need a quart of milk, walk to the local grocer.

6) Use your lunch break as an exercise break. I go work out and then eat lunch at my desk. A brisk walk around the block will leave you more refueled for the afternoon than that third cup of coffee.

7) Do you complain about how slow your apartment elevator is? Take the faster route – the stairs. You’ll burn calories in the process.

8) It’s always ironic that those who circle the parking lot looking for the closest spot are often the most overweight. Park farther away where there are spots o’ plenty. You’ll burn extra calories lugging your groceries back to the car.

9) Have you ever heard the phrase “hurry up and wait!”? Well it’s not just a humorous observation it’s a great way to stay moving. The next time you’re waiting in a long lineup don’t take a chair, pace the floor or do a little stretching.

10) If you have no time to exercise, chances are you don’t have time to clean the house either. Housework – such as dusting, vacuuming, shoveling and raking – is multitasking because it counts as exercise.

Pickup truck hauler -- discover the bigger tougher brother to sports utility vehicles

Pickup truck haulers are the more sturdy, practical alternative to sport utility vehicles, and many people are now making the switch. They are certainly a growing market, but a number of obstacles stand in the way of sales. Rising gas prices and environmental pressure influence many people's decisions of whether or not to buy, as well as the current dominance of sport utility vehicles on the market. Can they oust the competition and find their place in an over-crowded marketplace, or will they fall by the wayside as practicality gives way to political correctness?

Uses

Pickup truck haulers have a variety of uses, and in fact the phrase can mean a number of things. The hauler can be separate, like a trailer, or even an add-on at the back to hold motorbikes. Mostly, though, pickup truck haulers are elongated pickups, designed to carry much larger items and cope with a heavier workload. Apart from motorbikes, jet skis, powered parachutes, canoes, snowmobiles, rafts, and balloons can be transported to their destinations, and they are frequently used as mobile skips and organic waste disposal units. They are getting larger and more versatile by the year, and are so reaching broader markets and appealing to a wider range of users.

History

The humble pickup truck has been around since 1925, when Henry Ford introduced the "Ford Model T Runabout with Pickup Body". Selling at $281, they quickly established a new market in motor vehicles, which was seized upon by the general public. Farmers found them particularly useful, but during the Great Depression banks would not lend money for luxuries such as cars, but they would for utilitarian vehicles such as pickups. This changed when a farmer sent a letter to Henry Ford asking, "Why don't you build people like me a vehicle in which I can take my family to church on Sunday, and my pigs to town on Monday?"; and so the utility vehicle was born, and it has gone from strength to strength since. Nowadays they can be used to move far more than pigs or people, but with their increased size has come an increased consumption of fuel, with damaging consequences.

Fuel Consumption

The larger the vehicle, the more fuel it consumes, and the greater the effect on the environment. sport utility vehicles have received widespread criticism over the last few years from environmental pressure groups, and rising gas prices have shaken the market considerably. Polls in the summer of 2006 suggested that most people wanted to move away from utility vehicles and into the smaller car or hybrid sector. Nonetheless, the opposite appears to be happening, with sales of utility vehicles rising while car sales fall. Pickup truck haulers are definitely at the higher-consumption end of the market, but they fill a niche that cannot be otherwise filled by cars or smaller vehicles. If you need to move large items, then you need a large vehicle. Period.

The Future

Pickup truck haulers have a large role in the utilitarian market today, and will no doubt continue to do so in the future. The main criticism of sport utility vehicles is that they are are very often used by those who don't actually need them, such as couples or small families. So the question to ask yourself is: do I really need a pickup truck hauler? I cover this topic and the different varieties of haulers in my webpage, so I won't go into it here, but at the end of the day only you can answer that question, based on your career and lifestyle. One thing is for certain, though: pickup truck haulers are here to stay, and the time is right for them to overtake the competition and move into the fast lane.

Parvovirus and your dog

Parvovirus (commonly called Parvo) is a viral disease that affects dogs. It is far more common in puppies than adult dogs and can have serious ramifications for the infected animal, including death. Parvo grows best in the rapidly dividing cells of the dog’s intestines. As the virus attacks and kills these cells it causes massive diarrhea and halts or slows the creation of white blood cells. In young puppies it can often directly infect the heart, leading to death.

The symptoms of Parvo start with fever, depression, and lethargy. The dog will usually experience a loss of appetite as well and then eventually show more sever signs like vomiting and diarrhea which is often bloody. Once the virus reaches this stage dehydration and death usually follow.

Parvo is carried and transmitted by dogs. The vomit and feces of an infected animal will also carry the virus which is rather resilient and can survive outside the dog’s body in the surrounding environment for as long as nine months. Sometimes an adult dog can be infected by the virus and show no symptoms but act as a carrier transmitting the virus to the other animals it comes into contact with.

There is no cure for Parvo. Dogs that are infected will die of dehydration without treatment. That treatment primarily consists of providing fluids, giving repeated blood transfusions, and preventing dehydration. The mortality rate in dogs affected by Parvo is about 20% if the dog receives treatment in time. Without treatment, about 80% of those infected will die from it. It is a very serious disease.

Parvo tends to affect some dog breeds more than others. Dobermans, Rottweilers, and other black and tan dogs have a greater chance of contracting the virus. The reason for this is unknown but the fact that these dogs are at higher risk does not mean that owners of other types of dogs can rest easily. Dogs of any breed can become infected.

While there is no cure for Parvo, puppies can (and should) be vaccinated against it at an early age. Most vets recommend puppies be immunized starting at six weeks of age with vaccinations continuing until twenty weeks of age. Proper immunization is the best way to prevent a dog from contracting Parvo.

Garden leaf blowers - more power to your elbow

Garden leaf blowers are powered generally either by gas or electric. Our article below will guide you to make the best choice of leaf blower for your portability needs, and garden size.

Gas Leaf Blowers

These are more powerful (and noisier) than electric ones, and with a reach beyond the limits of an extension cord. Two-cycle engines require a mix of gas and oil. Gas powered leaf blowers are excellent where mobility and greater work output is required, but are unfortunately heavier than the electric models.

Hand held leaf blowers - Useful only for small to medium yards where you need the power of a gas engine.. They can get heavy however after using for a while. Convenience and portability have their own price if you have backache! The bigger models can also vibrate a bit at top speed, so check the weight and balance.

Look for air speeds higher than 150 mph and noise levels less than 70 decibels. (Make sure to check your local ordinances: as some areas limit noise to less than 65 decibels.)

Backpack leaf blowers - these are best for driveways and bigger yards. Be sure to look out for an antivibration system and noise-squelching muffler to make carrying the engine bearable for long periods of time. The blower fits in a harness worn on the operator's back.

Walk behind leaf blowers - these are better for large yards or big areas. I would look for a four cycle engine to give you more power and less emissions, and also a three wheeler if possible to make for easier steering. Walk behind leaf blowers cover the most acreage in the least time. These gas powered machines are normally the tool of choice for commercial users, but for regular homeowners, they can make short work of a home lawn. They will however be more expensive too! Vacuum units also use a hose for picking up debris and leaves.

Electric Leaf Blowers

These are less powerful than gas, but have the advantage of being lighter, with less vibration and quieter (you still need some protection for your hearing) — and there are no exhaust fumes! as electricity drives the fan. The attached cord however, limits your mobility so this may not be the best choice for a lawn with lots of trees!. Look too, for a cord retention system to prevent the cord from being accidentally unplugged when being used. Also when selecting an extension cord to use with your electric leaf blower, remember that if the gauge used is too small or inadequate, the motor will not perform particularly well. Match the power rating of the tool to a compatible cord, and always buy a cord that is rated for outdoor use. Be Safe!

Handheld leaf blowers - these are best for smaller gardens, patios and walkways. Be on the lookout for one with a flexible blower tube to allow you to reach into corners!

Combo leaf blower/vacuum - a great idea for small to medium gardens where you've not much room to pile your leaves. I would look out for one with a variable speed and mulcher built-in to the blower to help cut the leaf volume.

Rechargeable/battery-operated leaf blowers - are a good alternative for small areas. Work well on solid surfaces like driveways and garages, but are limited because of their short run time and because they move less air than the larger corded models.

Too much sitting can cause disaster

Most writers have dangerous issues they pay little or no attention to until it’s too late—their health! And yet, health can be more of a problem than Writer’s Block, complications of concentration, writing anxiety, daily output frustration and editor angst. What I’m talking about is sitting related diseases.

It took me five years to write my novel, The Mayor’s Wife Wore Sapphires, and all during that time, I had to work at keeping healthy. First of all, I was gaining weight. Then came cold feet with tingling sensation, mental fog, stiff shoulders, headaches, loneliness and depression. I knew I needed a routine of loving me to ever finish this novel. If you don’t believe me see by bio: urbanclassicbooks. com. I share how I had to love me enough to be energetic and in good health when my novel was finished.

Sitting from three to five hour stretches at a computer naturally causes obesity, unless it is counterbalanced with an hour of walking, running, stretching, or aerobics. Obesity alone brings along body break down—poor circulation that causes heart disease, hypertension and mental fog, diabetes, heart failure, and thus kidney failure, stroke and don’t forget sagging skin.

Each hour you sit at your computer causes another part of the body to break down, atrophy, cells to die, muscles to sag. Those are just the results you can see. The body was wired to move. When it doesn’t move it rusts inside, and rust (oxidation) causes health problems. As simple as that.

Now that we’ve identified the possible disasters, let’s talk about how to keep the five-hours-a-day work at your computer from rushing you away from this earth, or debilitating you. Begin by bargaining with time to enjoy and promote your great American novel, or that famous nonfiction book—without a potbelly, hunched shoulders, or wrinkled face when you get on Oprah—if you’re able to walk onto that little stage.

Brisk Walking—This is my favorite. You need no partner, no special time, and no expensive gear. All you need is a will and a habit. Now if you go out at the same time every day for thirty days, you’ll have the walking habit. Brisk walking brings oxygen into lungs that help rid the body of that great destroyer—oxidants. It’s also a weight-bearing activity that keeps the back strong, the neck and legs improving in performance. It pushes blood through your body and washes out harmful things we ingest.

Running—That’s my next favorite. It gives you the sped-up version of brisk walking.

Dancing—I like dancing because it causes physical and social healing. It moves every part of your body. It gives you interaction with other people to laugh with, make a fool of yourself with and potential new characters to write about. It makes you feel happy.

Yoga — This exercise stretches every muscle in your body and sends blood flowing to your face and brain. Yoga is the only exercise that systematically exercises all of the internal organs of your body—liver, spleen, heart, pancreas, thalamus, and intestines. All three of the above are free, and you know writers often need FREE.

Gym—usually people pay for this, but won’t drive there to exercise. I live in a condo complex and it has a free gym. It’s great for cold days. There are machine and weights for every part of your body. I love the weights and pull down machines that relieve my shoulders of computer hunching tension.

Drink eight glasses of water per day as an antioxidant…to wash all the poisons from your system—stale indoor air, that fatty snack you took when you left your computer. Oh, by the way, just stock the fridge with green stuff, carrot and celery sticks. When you don’t have any bad stuff to eat you won’t eat it.

Move from your computer every hour. Do something physical. Vaccum, cook, exercise.

Eat lots of green stuff—spinach, greens, cabbage, okra, peas

This is your best bet for being alert and looking strong and healthy when you go on Good Morning America for the entire world to see. Now if you decide you don’t want to choose this lifestyle, or some other daily exercise program, then don’t blame your nurse when she sticks you with a needle or your doctor demands that you have a stay in the hospital. It’s all left up to you.

By the way, I did finish my novel with aplomb, got 5-Star Reviews, and I’m working my way toward the Oprah Show!

THE END ###

Meet my bodyguard - mr. taser

Not so very long ago, those concerned about crime or fearing for their safety had limited options. Many such people chose to purchase a handgun, unfortunately resulting in occasional accidental deaths when children got hold of it or someone was mistakenly identified as an intruder (resulting in yet another occupational liability for pizza delivery drivers!)

After that came a plethora of non-lethal weapons including stun guns, pepper spray, and Tasers. Among the foregoing, Tasers are widely thought to be the most effective. The overall effectiveness of a stun gun has been measured at 86% (and pepper spray’s performance is even more dismal), but the Taser’s effectiveness has been measured at a constant 100% as long as your attacker isn’t an android. Believe it or not, Tasers are available to the public, although the most advanced versions are available only to police and other law enforcement personnel.

In contrast with stun guns, when using a Taser you don’t need to be close enough to an attacker to touch him – Tasers are effective from as far as fifteen feet (law enforcement grade Tasers are effective from up to thirty-five feet away). Even better, Tasers are safe – they don’t cause death or permanent injury except in the case of freak accidents (someone falls and hits his head on concrete, for example). This feature is vitally important in case you mistakenly Taser someone by mistake.

How does a Taser work? It uses compressed nitrogen to fire two fishhook probes into the attacker’s body. An electrical pulse shoots through the Taser probe wires and into the attacker’s body. This causes immediate loss of neuromuscular control for the entire duration of the impulse. Even if your aim is terrible, you only need to hit your attacker anywhere on his body or clothing, and you’ll end up Taser-ing the poor attacker into a quivering pile of flesh. Training is required to use it properly, but it is minimal and any reasonably intelligent person can master it.

All in all, Tasers are considerably safer and more accurate than handguns and are easier to use. They’re also cheaper. If you live in a big metropolis, have enemies, or have an obnoxious personality, you should definitely give some consideration to purchasing a Taser.

How to get your promotional articles accepted by publishers

As the publisher of an article directory, I see this all the time: writers and other marketers who are so desperate to get their promotional seen they really don't think about how they are marketing, where they are marketing, or who they are marketing to.

As an article writer myself, who has gone from almost no listings at all in the last year in Google, to over 46,000, I'd like to give you a little insight into to how you can get your articles read and seen so that get you the traffic and sales you are looking for.

1. Target your market

This should be obvious. If you're writing articles about real estate, find sites that accept articles on real estate. Find directories that accept articles on real estate. Then your article is more likely to get accepted.

Some article writers assume, wrongly, because a certain type of article is related to a subject, that article will be published on a certain type of site.

Not so. It's a good idea to explore the content of a site before submitting, unless it's a general article directory. This will tell you whether this article is a good fit or not.

2. Don't submit an ad or a press release

I get this one a lot. My question to people like this is, "What makes you think I'll publish your ad?"

I pay for my web hosting, domains, and all the other expenses incurred in running an online business. Why should I help you? Why do I have to waste my time deleting your junk from my site?

I'm a writer and then a marketer, but in the case of site content, I'm a marketer first. I want top notch content on my site. Good articles. Articles that will help my readers. The best way to help my readers is to publish articles that are related to my topic.

Now, if the site does publish ads and press releases, by all means, submit. However, make sure that you have properly targeted your market. Website publishers are busy people, and it only takes a second to hit that delete key.

3. Make your article interesting

One of the first things I learned in journalism school is to translate technical material into plain language so that readers can understand it.

The same applies with articles. If you use a term that is unfamiliar, explain it in the body of your article. Don't send your readers on a wild goose chase trying to figure out what you mean.

Make your article easy to understand.

Use short words, short paragraphs, and short sentences. If you've ever read a newspaper, or "Time" magazine, or even a romance novel, you'll find out that these are written on about a seventh grade level.

This is so that readers can get through the material quickly. It's easy to understand.

4. Don't use HTML to format your article unless the publisher specifically says you can.

One of my article directories does all of the HTML formatting for the writer. Therefore, when the writer uses HTML in the formatting, those characters show up. I either have to remove the HTML or delete the article. The article almost always gets deleted unless I really want the article on my site. Then the writer gets a personal email.

5. Check your work

Now I will be the first to admit that I am guilty of this one.

I write at the speed of light and type at the speed of sound. This means that I'm thinking faster than I can get the words down on paper. This can quickly make a mess of my articles.

The easiest way around this one is to read your article out loud. This forces you to slow down. You'll catch a lot of your grammar and punctuation mistakes, and smooth the flow of your writing.

Give your links one last check to make sure they work, and you're ready to go.

If you want to get more mileage from your articles, the best way to do this is to target your market, write a good article, and give your reader information that is helpful, interesting, and easy to understand.

You'll maximize your listings in the search engines and multiply your traffic and sales exponentially.

Making friends with the competition is good seo

Before you start creating your own business blog it doesn’t hurt to check out what the competition is doing. This is not only a form of market research that allows you to see what readers might be interested in, it is also a way of preventing yourself from making the same mistakes as your competitor.

However the main reason to check out your competitor’s site is to see if you are mining from the same informational sources. It is a good idea to make your content as different from your competition’s as possible and to take cues from what your competitor is doing that works to make your own blog more successful.

A competition’s blog can also be a valuable source of PR for you. Every time you enter a comment on your competitor’s blog you can add a link back to your blogging site. This ensures that you are placing yet another link to your blog in a place where it is sure to be appreciated by interested visitors.

Bloggers love comments because readers who are engaged in a discussion in the comments section will return to a page again and again. Some popular blogs have hundreds of comments on some entries, and for every commenter you can be sure there are dozens who are following along but who do not care for whatever reason to get involved in the discussion. Comment areas will usually allow you to enter your email address and blog address in addition to your name, so for every comment you make, you’re insuring that another link to your blog is placed in front of people who might be interested in what you have to say.

However before you leave any kind of spam or negative commentary remember that your competitor may do the same to you on your blog. Ultimately this just makes both blog businesses look bad.

A stag weekend becomes a moveable feast

:
One Lucky Stag Has a Taste of Heaven in Estonia’s Thumping Capital

There’s a lot to love about a stag weekend in Tallinn. Right now all I could hear was ‘Void you like another beer?’, and all I could see was row upon row of straight, white, perfect Estonian teeth and long, shiny, blonde Estonian hair. The waitress, and owner of said teeth and hair, was asking for the trillionth time: ‘Beer. Do-you-want-another-one?’ Even though it was my stag night which made me emperor and overlord of all I surveyed, I couldn’t even muster eye contact and so just nervously spluttered out a well rehearsed ‘Jah!’ Sweet. Beer in the form of the fine ‘Le Coq Premium’ would be soon on its way and, well, I had to admit that my Estonian was coming along beautifully.

But before the beer could even be pulled from the beer pulling thing, before Miss Estonia could even return to service our table, the lights dimmed and there was a venerable hush. And after what had to be the slowest minute known to man, a vision appeared like a phoenix rising. Or something. Just 23 and a half hours earlier I had been arguing about the price of insulation batts in Reading Argos and now, before me stood – or rather lay - a moveable feast in every sense of the word. She was Tanya. She was 22. She was from Haapsalu. Or was it Hishpalaa? Somewhere west of the capital. She was naked. She had our dinner strategically placed on her 22 year old perfect Estonian body. She was very talented.

In Japan, this practice is called nyotaimori and the name literally means ‘adorned body of a woman’ and for the next three hours the unlimited beer flowed and me and my twenty-nine best friends wined, dined and hatched plans about escaping management consultancy and setting up our own bar in down town Tallinn. Or maybe we could open up an English school. Or an academy for young ladies wanting to be learned in the ways of contemporary British life. My Tallinn stag weekend was only half a day old and it was fast surpassing Skegness as my holiday destination of choice. We toasted to the Saku the finest Estonian lager to pass my lips, to Reading topping the table and to Tanya’s left thigh. We toasted to Tallinn’s remarkable ability to produce the highest concentration of the fit birds per square mile and, of course to me and my upcoming nuptials. We were still toasting when we left Tanya half covered in dessert and fig leaves and little else. We were toasting the magnificent delights of Tanya’s right thigh in a rather loud manner, lager and le Coqs in hand, when we noticed what seemed to be a troupe of troopers walking in our general direction.

Crazy-Tallinn-street-cleaners-who-just-couldn’t-part-with-their-soviet-army-fatigues (to them it would always be 1989). We toasted to 1989. To Berlin. To Gorbachev. To Reagan. To Yeltsin, who we were all sure was very certain of the infinite native delights of Estonia. To the greatest stag weekend ever. Thank you Tanya, wherever you may be, Tanan and Head ood! Thank you and good night. I will never look at grilled Greek pork in the same way again.

Peter Finlay spoke to Amalia Illgner. We are pleased to announce that Peter is now a happily married man with a house full of white goods in Reading.

Special Thanks to Chillisauce for organizing Peter's Tallinn stag weekend.

Now that's what we like to call service!

Cambodia the blind masseuses

Cambodia has seen far more than its fair share of tragedy and misery. The blind masseuses offer a glimpse of the true Cambodian heart and will to carry on.

Seeing Hands Massage

With the onset of the genocidal rule of the Khmer Rouge, Cambodia took a serious turn for the worse from the late 1970s through the early eighties. When the Khmer Rouge were finished killing or starving as much as twenty percent of the population and finally thrown out of power, the land turned into a lawless morass with all that implies. During this time, numerous people were left disabled. A particularly significant disability was blindness, which arose from torture or muggings undertaken by throwing battery acid in the face of victims.

As the country recovers, a unique and heartening development has occurred with Cambodians that are blind. The Association for the Blind in Cambodia, along with international backers, has been training the blind to be masseuses. Their motto is, “The blind can see with there hands.”

Members of the association travel the country to find potential masseuses. The individuals are then trained until they are masters of the art of massage. The Association has even gone one step further. In Sihanoukville, Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, the Association for the Blind has opened massage businesses known as “Seeing Hands,” which solely employee the blind masseuses.

I heartily and enthusiastically recommend you get a massage at Seeing Hands if you’re traveling in Cambodia. Driving anywhere in Cambodia is a bone jarring experience. There is no better way to get out the knots than one of these massages. The masseuses are friendly and seem to be able to find every little knot. I guarantee you’ll feel like a new man or woman after getting one.

Each Seeing Hands location has slightly different prices, but all are cheap as is typical for Cambodia. You can expect to spend between three to five dollars for the best one-hour massage you’ve ever had.

On top of it, you’ll feel good to know you’re helping people help themselves. In fact, many of the masseuses make more money a month than people who can see!

Using your web stats to sell

After you have a website for a while, you start to learn a lot of tips and tricks for doing business on the web. One of the best marketing tools you have is right there on your server and you'd be amazed at how many people don't use it. That tool is your website statistics. If you've never examined your web stats before you're missing out on a real gold mine of information. They are usually found in the control panel section of your web hosting company. Most web hosts will email them to you if you can't access them yourself.

Learn Important Pages Viewed Information

You are most likely familiar with your "hits" on your web stats for finding out how many people have visited your website. Most stats programs will not only tell you how many visitors you have had to your site, but what pages on your website they visited, how long they stayed on a particular page and what page they last viewed on your website before they surfed on.

Valuable Keywords and SEO

If you're interested in search engine optimization for your website and you aren't sure what keywords to use for your site; there is usually a section in your web stats file that shows you what keywords a person entered to find your site and what search engine they used. You can put those keywords around your website on various relevant pages to increase the search engine optimization of your site. That won't catapult your website to the number one position on Google overnight but it will increase your rankings if done correctly.

The Magic of Referrers

Another great feature is the referrer section. Know what sites or search engines are referring your website visitors. Referrals can come from other websites, news groups, clubs and forums or even competitors - if people are being referred to your website, find out by who. In many cases, someone that had a great experience with your firm will be referring your company to someone on a message board that is looking for a similar product or service.

Use Your Web Stats

If you notice people are leaving within a few seconds of hitting your index page. Look at it in a few different browsers because they are not all created equally. What loads like a champ in Internet Explorer may look like garbage in Firefox or Opera browsers; or it simply may take too long to load. If you notice people are leaving at a point in your shopping cart - either your shipping is too high or your program may be faulty. Find out what items are getting the most looks and promote those to bring in more visitors.

Now that you know how your web stats can work for you, jump start your Internet business today.

What to expect from tattoo removal

For one reason or another, individuals often decide to have a tattoo removed. Perhaps it depicts a former love that is no longer a part of that person’s life or perhaps they just no longer want that specific tattoo on their body. Whatever the reason, it often becomes a consideration and one that must not be undertaken without some serious thought.

If you are considering having a tattoo removed, the first thing to do is to make an appointment with a local physician or dermatologist in order to discuss your wishes. He/she will examine the tattoo, it’s condition and will then determine which method is the best for complete removal. It is important to note that tattoo removal does involve surgery which, in itself, does carry potential risks and side effects. Even the simplest surgery can result in complications, so be sure to consider tattoo removal very carefully. This is why it is so important to make sure that you really want the tattoo before going ahead with it’s application.

In most cases, your physician or dermatologist will be able to give you a step-by-step explanation of how the procedure will be done, how long it will take and what type of recovery you can expect. Understandably, the site of surgery will be tender for some time and will likely result in some type of scarring. However, with time both will lessen until the scarring is minimally visible. The ultimate answer as to the level of scarring will depend on the size of the tattoo. A larger image will result in a larger scar than, for instance, a small butterfly tattoo. As one would expect, certain areas of the body are more sensitive and are therefore more likely to be sensitive to pain.

Once a decision has been made to remove the tattoo, an appointment will be made for the procedure. This may or may not be an outpatient surgery, which will determined by any complications that arise during the procedure, the patient’s overall health and/or the likelihood of an allergic reaction to any medication given. Often, patients are held overnight for observation before being sent home. It is important that patients speak with the surgeon regarding any possible risks associated with the procedure.

The cost of having a tattoo removed can be quite high, especially if the tattoo is large. The majority of health insurance companies will not cover these costs unless the tattoo must be removed for medical/health reasons. Otherwise, the full financial responsibility will be assigned to the patient who must then figure out a way to pay for the surgery. Many hospitals offer a payment plan to those who cannot afford the total cost upfront. Arrangements for any type of payment plan must be made prior to the surgery and must be approved through the hospital’s billing department.

This article is to be used for informational purposes only. The information contained herein is not intended to be used in place of, or in conjunction with, professional medical advice or recommendations for tattoo placement. Before deciding on getting a tattoo or having one removed, the patient must consult a licensed medical doctor for medical advice and/or to determine the best course of action for his/her individual healthcare needs.

Finding the right business for you

Starting a small business takes money, lots of patience, and definitely time. The real challenge you encounter when you start your own business is to find the correct idea or opportunity which is appropriate for you. You might encounter some trials and many tests have to be conducted in this business startup stage before you can get it working the way you want it to. But you should never give up. The reason it is so important to find a right business is because you will be having the right passion and interest and drive to build it even high. Then once you feel comfortable in a particular business model, the next step is to start and get it working.

Now you should also find out what your natural ability or gift is and try to develop it. Many times it is something which you can accomplish better than any other individual. Deciding on what business you should do must not be very difficult if you only concentrate on your ability before exploring other available options to you. This can be very satisfying and rewarding for you because everyone has this natural gift.

And after that, you have to see that you take your talent or gift to the next level and make it marketable. Another idea is to do what you are doing and make it into a profitable business enterprise. To have more business ventures and ideas, you should closely monitor and study your skills, talents, education, hobbies, and try to create a list of things you are good and love doing. Further, you may even explore areas in retail, food, business services, home, consulting, accounting, and auto field.

You should not unnecessarily be concerned about what people say to you. Sometimes they may tell you "you will not be able to do it, since nobody in our family did it before". This statement is not correct. You can do any business you set out to do yourself. Even if the nature of trading you want to begin is not what everybody else is doing, you should not be concerned about it, but you should continue to strive for excellence and work on it.

You may require some courage to start your small business. If you have done your homework right and studied the right model to start, you must not discontinue. Many times people fail in business because they did not continue it for a long period of time. You may also want to do some research outside of work to decide whether your type of business is suitable for a particular area.

Also, you may have to plan financially to survive for at least 6 months to 1 year initially, if your business doesn't pick up. Breakeven normally occurs after six months and may even happen until 2 years in some cases. Just work out a comfortable zone financially so that you may go back to your earlier position if something you plan may not work out as well.

Cervical radiculopathy treating a pinched nerve in the neck

Let's suppose that you have been diagnosed as having a pinched nerve in your neck, also known as cervical radiculopathy. If so, you probably have pain in the neck and one shoulder. The pain might radiate into your arm and you might have weakness or numbness in the arm as well. Moving your neck in certain positions probably worsens the pain.

If you're a younger adult, the pinch could be due to a herniated (slipped) disc. Discs are the soft spacers that separate each pair of stacked neck-bones (vertebrae). If you're an older adult, the pinch is more likely due to a bony spur (spondylosis). In either case, you're in good company. A survey in Sicily showed 3.5 active cases at any one time of cervical radiculopathy per population of 100,000. In Rochester, Minnesota, another survey showed 85 new cases each year of cervical radiculopathy per population of 100,000.

Let's say that your doctor has evaluated you thoroughly by taking a history of your symptoms and performing a physical examination. Perhaps with the additional help of an MRI of your cervical spine (neck) and electrical tests of nerve and muscle function (nerve conduction studies and electromyography) the diagnosis of cervical radiculopathy is deemed definite. Furthermore, there is no sign that the spinal cord itself is pinched. Now what?

Now what, indeed. Choosing a treatment for this condition is far from straightforward. Out of hundreds of published medical reports concerning treatment of cervical radiculopathy, most are case reports or case series. A "case series" translates roughly as: "We gave six patients in a row the same treatment and five of them got better." What can be concluded from a study of this kind? Did the treatment make the patients better or would they have improved anyway? We don't know.

The missing ingredient here is a comparison group of untreated or differently treated individuals known as a control group. The other mark of a quality study is that the chosen treatment is randomized, meaning that the research subjects agreed in advance to be assigned to one treatment group or another based on the equivalent of a coin-toss. So out of the hundreds of published studies involving treatment of this common condition, how many were randomized controlled trials? Unfortunately, the answer is just one.

Liselott Persson, Carl-Axel Carlsson and Jane Carlsson at the University Hospital of Lund, Sweden, randomly allocated 81 patients who had symptoms of cervical radiculopathy present for at least three months to any of three treatments -- surgery, physical therapy or a cervical collar. The patients ranged from 28 to 64 years old and 54% of them were male. The surgeons used the so-called Cloward procedure, removing fragments of protruding discs and spurs through an incision in the front of the neck, and then fusing two neck-bones together by means of a bone-graft. Physical therapy involved 15 sessions over a span of three months and consisted of whatever the physical therapist considered appropriate, variously including any of the following: heat application, cold application, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, massage, manipulation, exercise and education. In the cervical collar group, patients wore rigid, shoulder-resting collars every day for three months. Additionally, some of the subjects wore soft collars overnight.

How did the study turn out? Three of the subjects who were assigned to surgery refused the procedure because they had already improved on their own. For statistical purposes their outcomes were included with those who actually received the operation. After three months the surgery and physical therapy groups reported, on average, less pain. After an additional 12 months patients in all three groups had less pain than at the beginning of the study and the outcomes of each treatment were statistically alike. Measurements of mood and overall function following treatment were likewise equal among the groups.

So, over the long haul, no treatment was better than the others. Of course, within each group some patients did better or worse than others and this spread of outcomes was not reflected in the overall averages. In fact, five patients in the collar group and one patient in the physical therapy group went on to receive surgery owing to lack of satisfactory improvement. In addition, eight patients in the surgery group underwent a second operation that in one case was due to a complication of the first operation.

With this Swedish study representing the only rigorous investigation of treatment outcomes in cervical radiculopathy, there are a number of unanswered questions. For example, what are the effects on cervical radiculopathy of painkillers, anti-inflammatory drugs, local injections, systematic traction or other forms of surgery? We don't know. What happens if there is no treatment whatsoever? We don't know the answer to that question either.

Thus, in the care of individual patients there is a yin-yang balancing act between the medical edict of "Above all, do no harm" and the practical dictum of "Do what you have to do." This balancing act usually means starting with less intrusive treatments like drugs and physical therapy. If symptoms fail to improve or become unbearable, an operation may be helpful.

Nuts and bolts of data recovery

You must be aware of the fact that everyday your computer is at risk to almost all the computer disasters available. Whether you are using Mac or a Personal Computer, viruses, hackers, power surges, natural disasters, human errors, hardware failures and many threats can be encountered. For you to keep your data in a safe, you will need to do a back up on your hard drives. However, when hard drive failure takes place, your only solution is data recovery.

Ideally, you need to back up data to keep your files safe and sound. It is also done to avoid the use of complicated process like data recovery. But if you run into steps to prepare your computer from hard drive problems, you might find it hard and experience problems.

Make Sure That You Know The Meaning of Data Recovery:

If you are working diligently away on a document or spreadsheet in Microsoft Office and the power goes out, you may still be able to recover the documents you were working on when the lights come back on. This type of data recovery is relatively easy and straightforward. Software manufacturers recognize that power outages are inevitable and unpredictable and most office applications incorporate what is known as auto save features.

At set intervals, the documents you have open are saved to a cached file. They remain in that cached state and should be accessible once your power is restored. Simply opening Microsoft Word or Excel will usually bring these documents back. For instance, when you open Word after a power failure or a software error, you will be presented with a document followed by the word recovered in parentheses. This is the document you were working on at the most recent auto save point. You may still lose a couple minutes worth of work this way, but it sure beats having to go back and retype the entire document.

If the recovered document does not appear automatically, search your hard drive for files ending with tamp. Look for one created close to the time of the power failure or software error and open it. This is most likely the document you had open at the time. If this method of data recovery does not work, you may need to follow the steps listed below.

Try to Call an Expert:

If some programs in your computer do not function well, turn your computer system off. This is a very easy task but you need to do it. This can prevent damages on the disks and avoids data loss. If you will notice an unusual sound, the process is already taking place. The moment you notice that your hard drives are working overtime, you need to turn your computer system off to avoid your computer to self-destruct. If you will not do this simple task, you have your computer system damaged.

There is also a do-it-yourself software for data recovery. However, you have to be careful in choosing which one is for you. Most of the self instructed data recovery software are very complicated and are dangerous by nature. This can ruin the function of your computer instead of treating it. If someone boast about the effectiveness of their data recovery self instruction, be able to know how to handle it properly. Read carefully the instruction and do it well.

What do drew barrymore ellen degeneres matt damon and charlize theron have in common

They all quit smoking with hypnosis. We all know that celebrities love to follow a trend - and, with smoking way down on the list of things that you should do in life - more and more famous people are turning to hypnosis to break their bad habits.

Let's face it - quitting smoking is hard, whether you're famous or not. It doesn't matter how bad you want to quit, sometimes actually being able to break the physical and mental addiction is something we just can't do on our own. But, the fact is that smoking could shorten your lifespan, it makes your life miserable and it eats up all your money.

So, it's no surprise that celebrities like these four have given hypnosis a try. Sometimes, having someone else deal with an addiction for you is just a lot easier than having to do it yourself. Matt Damon, for example, is said to have quit smoking straight after just three sessions with his hypnotherapist. As he said afterwards:

"It's amazing I didn't even want cigarettes any more."

Ellen DeGeneres, on the other hand, was cured on her TV show by a guest hypnotherapist on the spur of the moment. She was so grateful to have found an instant cure that she told him:

"You've helped me tremendously and probably saved my life, definitely changed my life."

And, Drew Barrymore managed to kick a two to three pack a day habit that she had had since her teens with the help of hypnosis.

So, why are the rich and famous turning to hypnosis to cure their bad habits? The fact is that it just plain works and, as word gets out how effective it can be, more and more smokers want to get help this way.

If you want to quit smoking then hypnosis could be the ideal solution for you. Going down this route could see you quit smoking in an instant - unlike other methods such as nicotine patches or gum which could take months to wean you off and which could have nasty side effects. And, it's a whole lot easier than going cold-turkey.

Hypnosis simply works to make you want to quit smoking on a subconscious level. You do have to WANT to quit for it to work but - if you do - then there's no reason why it won't work for you. And, you don't have to be rich and famous to be able to see the benefits here.

The fact is that more and people who are desperate to quit smoking are turning to hypnotherapy as a solution. These people may have been trying to quit for years or may have just made the decision to try - it doesn't matter what stage you are at, hypnosis can help.

It's now even possible to use hypnosis to quit smoking at home - for example, Valerie Dawson's 'Stop Smoking Fast And Easy Program' can help you quit in just one session (an amazing two sessions less than it took Matt Damon!). Don't believe it could happen to you? Then take a look at stopsmokingfastandeasy. com - and take a couple of minutes to listen to the free audio before you make your mind up. The program comes with a no risk 100% money-back guarantee - so, you have nothing to lose but your nicotine habit and everything to gain!

Advantages and disadvantages of adjustable rate mortgages

When consumers begin shopping for a home loan they are often presented with the option of using an adjustable rate mortgage. An adjustable rate mortgage (also known as an ARM) can be a great way to buy a home but it can also be a horrible mistake that can lead to foreclosure or even bankruptcy. The difference between joy and disaster is often in the mortgage contract itself.

When consumers hear the term "adjustable rate mortgage" they should understand that this is a very broad term indeed, and that it can mean many things. There are, literally, dozens of varieties of ARM's available to home shoppers, and knowing the good ones from the bad ones should be a home buyer's first concern.

In general, an adjustable rate mortgage begins with a set rate of interest for a specific length of time. This first rate is usually lower than what consumers can find in the fixed rate market at the same time. This lower rate is the inducement to take the ARM over the fixed rate products.

At some point in time, and this will be spelled out in the contract, the lower rate will be adjusted. The adjustment can go up or down, but normally goes up, as you might expect. The factors that determine how much the rate goes up (or down) are many and vary from one lender to another. They also vary depending on the level of the mortgage. In other words, an adjustable rate mortgage that is also considered a sub-prime loan may have a huge increase in rate (along with increases in fees and service charges) which can make the new monthly payment difficult to pay.

Prime loans, on the other hand, which are more traditional in nature and are considered less risky by lenders, usually have caps on the amount of increase that is allowable for any one increase. This helps home owners (at least to some degree) to better understand what the max payment might be for their home at any given time in the future. In a very real sense it voids the "sky is the limit" possibility.

The only way to know if a particular adjustable rate mortgage is right for you and your budget is to sit down and read the contract slowly and carefully. You may notice some odd-looking numbers such as 1/3, 2/7, or 1/10. The actual numbers you see may vary according to the contract you are looking at, but, in essence, they mean that the introductory interest rate will last for the first number in the term. In the case of 1/3, that means that for one year you pay the lower interest rate and an adjustment takes places and will continue to take place every three years afterward. A 2/7 would mean you get the first rate for two years, then an adjustment takes place and another adjustment will take place every seven years after.

An adjustable rate mortgage can be confusing even for the most intelligent of people. If you have any questions about the contract you should ask the lender or an attorney that you trust. The time to have these questions cleared up is before you sign the contract.

Major league baseball wagering - part 1

Major League Baseball is somewhat of an enigma. Especially when attempting to use statistics to predict a game’s outcome. Even so, there is a lot of data and trends to consider before throwing one’s hands up in utter frustration in baseball’s defiance of probability. With patience and due diligence, a pattern may emerge. But then a gut feeling comes on and the urge to take the long shot is strong, especially when the pay out is big! The mountain of data, trends and statistics are enough to drive the sanest of us away from the bookmakers, relegating us to the sidelines. However, no one wants to live a life that boring. You can play the game - wager some cash - and make your life a whole lot more exciting.

First off, here are a few ideas to keep your sanity. These are my "top 10 baseball wagering tips for the hopelessly clueless," of which, when it comes to wagering, I am a charter member. If you consider yourself a knowledgeable bettor, these tips will still help you keep your perspective.

1) Don’t bet any more than you can afford to lose.

2) Don't ever bet more to recoup a loss.

3) Ignore your gut feelings and/or hunches.

4) If a bet looks too good to be true, it probably is.

5) Once you’ve made your bet, remember that no amount of stress will change the outcome of a game.

6) Never risk more than 5% of your bankroll on any given game.

7) Don't bet long shots. They are long shots for a reason.

8) If you are on a losing streak, take a break from wagering.

9) Don’t hold grudges over losses - your favorite team won’t be much fun to watch if you do.

10) Target long-term goals instead of random or short-term gains.

If you follow these 10 tips then you will be head and shoulders above the average Joe who is placing bets. Of course, you must first understand what you are doing when you wager. Here are some betting basics.

A straight bet is merely betting to win or lose. Sometimes you may not be able to get such a wager without giving or taking points. This is known as the point spread. To win you must "beat the spread", or win by more than a particular team is favored by doing so. This is also known as a form of handicapping. Money lines are pretty simple; it is the amount you need to risk to win $100. So if you see a number in a column marked ML, perhaps -110, you know you need to put up $110 to win $100 and get your $110 back. So if you win, your total payout is $210. The minus sign indicates that team is the favorite. A plus sign in front of the money line indicates the underdog. With over/unders, you are wagering on the total runs that will be scored in the game. You either bet on the number being under or over that total. Action Points refer to that fact that you are betting one team against another. With action points you ignore the starting pitchers, but if there is a change in one or both of the starters, the wager or the payout could be adjusted. Side bets are just what they sound like. You can put side bets on top of your bets. With head to head propositions or match bets you are wagering on one sports figure/team beating another sports figure/team. You can also Buy Points on a handicapped or point spread contest. Usually a straight buy of Ѕ point will cost you $10 on an 11/10 (risk $110 to win $100) standard bet. A straight buy of 1 point would cost $20. If you win, you’ll get back what you wagered plus $100. Sports books generally make 10% vigorish, or juice on a typical head to head straight wager. They only make it if you lose your bet.

Sports books will provide information in a compact format. The listing includes the MLB teams and pitchers with the away or visiting team and pitcher listed first and then the home team and pitcher listed underneath. The MLB money line tells you which team is the favorite (- sign) and what you must wager to win a particular amount. The MLB run line is the run differential that the sports book predicts. To win your wager, you have to beat the run line spread. The amount you wager is determined by the money line odds, located right next to the run line spread. Primarily the starting pitchers determine the money line odds. If a run line handicap is +1.5, the bet can still be won if your team loses the game, but only if they lose by one run. If they lose by two runs, you lose your wager. Run lines are always based on the listed pitchers. If the starting pitchers are changed before the game begins, these numbers may also change. The over/under will be a number in the O/U column. If the number were 7, then you would win the wager if the total number of combined runs were 8 or more. A winning under wager would result if 6 runs or less were scored.

All of this may seem rudimentary, but it’s the important foundation for MLB betting. Wagering can be as simple or as complicated as you make it. There are some more complex forms of wagering that are beyond the scope of this article. In Major League Baseball Wagering - Part II, we will discuss explanations and strategies of wagering on MLB futures, parlays, multiples, round robins and teasers. We will also discuss the advantages, bonuses, safety and security of choosing a good online sports book site for wagering on MLB.

How to remove lobster from the shell

Lobster is an an all-time favourite seafood with most people, and many dishes using lobsters require that the flesh be removed from the shell. Here are some handy tips when you prepare a lobster dish at home.

A preliminary way to prepare a lobster, which should be alive, is to grasp it firmly by the back, plunge it quickly, head first, into a kettle of rapidly boiling water, and then submerge the rest of the body. Be sure to have a sufficient amount of water to cover the lobster completely. Boil rapidly for 5 minutes; then lower the flame or remove to a cooler part of the stove and cook slowly for 1/2 hour. Remove from the water and allow to cool.

After being prepared in this way, a lobster may be served cold or it maybe used in the preparation of various made dishes. If it is to be used without further preparation, it is often served from the shell, which is usually split open. Mayonnaise or some other sauce is generally served with lobster. The flesh is removed from the shell with a small fork as it is eaten.

To remove lobster from the shell, first pull off the two large claws and the four pairs of small claws, and break the tail from the body. Then using scissors, cut a single slit the entire length of the shell covering the under part of the tail and remove the flesh inside the tail in a whole, large piece. The intestinal tract, which can be readily observed, will be found embedded in this piece and running the entire length. Slash the flesh and remove it. Next remove the flesh of the body from the shell, retaining only that part which appears to be fibrous, like the flesh of the tail. The stomach, should not be removed from the shell. However, care should be taken to obtain all the flesh surrounding the bones in the bony part of the lobster. The coral substance, that is, the roe of the lobster, should also be removed, as it can be used for a garnish.

With the flesh removed from the shell, proceed to take out the flesh in the claws. Break open the large claws, using a nut cracker or a small hammer for this purpose, and remove the flesh that they contain. If the small claws are to be used for a garnish, as is often done, remove the flesh without breaking them; otherwise break them as in the case of the large ones.

Why use biomass for our energy needs

The last five years has seen a revolution in how governments, people and industry view energy. The positive aspects of biomass energy have come to the forefront in this discussion.

Why Use Biomass for Our Energy Needs: The Pros

The primary positive aspect of biomass is it is part of the biocycle of life. This means it isn’t toxic to the environment because it is more or less the environment. An additional benefit is the fact biomass almost always breaks down relatively quickly to its natural elements. This means a biomass fuel spill would be far less damaging than an oil spill, particularly in the long run.

The burning of biomass does kick out carbon dioxide among other gases. Carbon dioxide, of course, is a greenhouse gas. Proponents of biomass energy, however, argue that the gases produced are not really a problem because they are part of the current biocycle. By this, they are arguing that carbon dioxide is a natural element produced in nature and they are correct.

Fossil fuels, on the other hand, are outside of the natural biocycle in the world because they are buried in the ground, which effectively means they are not part of naturally occurring phases. As we dig and drill fossil fuels out of the ground, we are adding the harmful elements found in them to a system that cannot withstand the massive influx.

We already use many biomass fuels in our daily lives. The first cavemen used them to light fires for warmth, protection and cooking. Today, we use them to power our automobiles in the form of biodiesal and bioethanol. Whether you realize it or not, these two fuels have been going into our cars at gas stations since 1990 in parts of the country. The reason is they are used as additives in gasoline for the purpose of cutting harmful carbon dioxide emissions. In fact, federal law mandates their use in certain cities such as Los Angeles as well as in most government vehicles.

Carbon dioxide produced from vehicles makes up over a third of all the greenhouse gases produced in our country. Bioethanol made from corn cuts these emissions by over 20 percent compared to your basic gasoline. Biodiesel made from soybeans cuts emissions by as much as 80 percent. Any way you cut it, using biomass fuel is a step in the right direction.
