History of american barbecue a long tradition

The history of American barbecue is strongly entrenched into its sociological history. The word barbecue simultaneously brings to our mind the US and vice versa. But BBQ is more a passionate factor in the southern states of USA than any other place. Its origin dates back to the times of the Civil War and even before it. Thus, the history of American barbecue is almost the history of America itself.

To make a long story short, though the history of American barbecue states that it originated in the south, nevertheless there is no single taste prevalent there. The taste, ingredients used and sometimes even the method of cooking varies from state to state and even town to town. It would be convenient to understand if the region is divided into the South, East Coast and Central South sections.

In the South, the meat is not at all what the original barbecue used to be made of, and they usually use mutton and beef cooked only in the slow cooking method. They also have a complete range of BBQ sauces to go with their bar-b-q that can vary between a sweet tomato sauce or a fiery red-hot one.

The East Coast however holds on to its original beginnings and has pork for its BBQ meat and vinegar sauces to accompany it. The side dishes that are a common favorite are coleslaw and hushpuppies - a cornmeal pastry. The vinegar sauces however see many variations like vinegar sauces rich in tomato, or a yellow mustard based sauce, with side dishes like bread and stew or hash with rice.

In the Central South, the meat remains to be pork and its ribs, but the way it is cut differs, in the sense it is pulled rather than chopped. They are slow cooked, shredded by hand and covered with ample amounts of sauce. The ribs are greased with sauce or covered with a mix of sharp spices before pit cooking. The sauce here however is a sweet tomato sauce with a hint of pepper and molasses. It is usually served with coleslaw, French fries, baked beans and cornbread. Further, in the west beef gets more preference over pork.

The history of American barbecue narrates a tale that has modified itself with the times, but even now, if you want a bite of the all-original American barbecue, it would do you good to visit any of the Southern states.

Fairtrade organic or locally produced food

Should I buy food and products that support workers in Third World by buying Fairtrade labelled products even though these goods normally travel thousands of miles from Africa, South America or South East Asia? What if these foods were produced with the use of pesticides and additives? It makes sense then to look for and to buy Fairtrade, organic food to both help the producers in the Third World and fulfil my lifestyle choice to eat healthy and additive/pesticide free food. Thankfully, many producers are now wising up to this dilemma by increasingly producing organic and Fairtrade labelled products. I am currently using Fairtrade, organic t-bags at home! Now comes another important question, should I buy Fairly Traded organic sugar from Kenya that has travelled thousands of miles, or should I buy apples grown in the UK (ideally from a farmers market) that have only travelled only a few hundred miles which means less carbon dioxide and other nasty emissions from the lorries that you see constantly on the motorways in the UK? Buying UK products not only ensures less food miles but also supports local farmers, communities and economies. Unfortunately, choice is often limited and can be more expensive then food produced in other countries……… Decisions, decisions, it’s probably best to abstain from eating and give your choice making brain a rest!

But I can safely say that I make attempts to avoid food or products that have travelled from far away destinations such as Australia even if they are organic! Next time you are in the supermarket or wherever you buy your food from check the labels and you will be surprised by how far your food has travelled. Also look at the amount of unnecessary wrapping such as individually wrapped peppers, mushrooms and kiwi fruit in wrapped boxes. When I buy from the local market I tell them to throw it all into one bag, the customer next to me often has 10 individually wrapped portions of fruit and veg. That’s 11 (10 plus one big plastic bag) bags into the landfill site that day. For maximum eco efficiency we need to be using jute or other bags made from recycled materials and putting all the loose food into that. For recycled bags, Fairtrade and Organic companies, products and food see GuideMeGreen’s Green Directory.

Video gaming a career opportunity

Video games have exploded into a multibillion dollar a year business. Every year new video games are produced, and people of all ages flock to stores to pick up the latest titles. I have been playing video games since the very first year that the Atari game system came out. My generation was the first that embraced the idea of video games, but succeeding generations have turned the industry into what it is today. Playing video games is a blast, but the popularity of gaming has also turned into a career path.

Video gaming in the United States is very popular for a recreational activity, but it is also starting to become a great way to make quite a bit of money. World Championships in certain games are bringing six figures as grand prizes, which makes them very popular to world class gamers. The reason these gaming competitions can bring in such large prize pools is that many different advertisers see the opportunity to target their audience at these events. Most of the time the winners of these competitions are in their twenties and the audience ranges from the teens to the early thirties. This particular target audience is one of the largest spending groups for entertainment in the world.

These video gaming competitions are growing very large in the United States, but they have exploded in Japan and some European areas. In Japan the best video gamers are treated like rock stars, or superstar athletes. They must be protected by bodyguards when they go out on the street, because their fans go crazy when they see them. These gamers are also making a tremendous amount of money playing at these competitions. Their winnings can total almost one million dollars in prize money, but they can also bring home another five to ten million dollars every year from the endorsement deals they receive. I believe if this trend continues many kids will be looking to hone their skills at video gaming, not just for the fun of it, but for the very viable option of making a huge fortune playing games the rest of their life. Perhaps video gamers will even replace basketball stars on the cereal boxes!

Realtor commissions 5 powerful ways to explode your business

As a realtor in today's ultra-competitive real estate market, it takes drive, determination, a positive mental attitude, and a solid business plan in order to become successful. If you want to truly become a major success, it is absolutely vital that you gain an edge on your competition.

Here are 5 powerful things that you can do today to skyrocket your real estate sales commissions and generate an avalanche of new business:

1. Focus on An Aspect of the Real Estate Business that you Enjoy

To boost your chances of success, you should concentrate your efforts on some aspect of real estate that you enjoy. To start out, simply make a list of everything about your realtor business that you find interesting. Then, create a second column and write down the skills that you have in relation to each of those ideas. Doing this will help you narrow your choices down based on real estate interest and skill. Step 1 will get you started in the right direction for success.

2. Circumstances: Make Some Changes

You have a choice in regards to your current success as a realtor and you can choose to accept your situation or improve it. If you choose to plug along in life hoping that something will change your business for the better, you won't get very far. Always remember that when it comes to changing your business, you can. You have complete control over your financial destiny.

3. Lay out your Plan

You should put together a complete plan for growing your real estate business. In this plan, include things such as goals, milestones, deliverables and contracts, as well as accomplishments you plan to achieve. This will give you a very powerful visual as to what you are working towards, what milestones you have successfully met as of rith now, and what you need to do improve.

4. Accepting Responsibility

It is important that you accept responsibility for any bad decisions or you risk falling behind in your plan. Let's say that you have set some firm goals that need to be accomplished in order for you to bump your business to the next level. However, you got burned out by the hard work and took some time off to play (keep in mind, this is fine as long as it does not affect your goals). Months have now passed and you're way behind schedule. Due to your decisions, your business is not as successful as it should be and you need to realize that fact is due to your decisions.

5. Be Happy: Warning, this is Contagious!

A positive mental attitude and a happy overall mindset will help you succeed. It's been proven time and time again in countless studies that someone living in a happy state generally becomes more successful in everything they set out to accomplish. Why is that? Attitude. Just as a bad attitude will pull you down, a good attitude will help you meet your goals and objectives.

Get polarized lenses for great fishing sunglasses

Fishing sunglasses do not contain images of fish, but avid fishermen claim they do make it easier on your eyes when you are fishing. Fishing sunglasses is a name given to sunglasses that contain polarized lenses. This type of lens in sun glasses makes it easier to see when you are on the water because they reduce the glare caused by the reflection of the sun on the water.

When you choose fishing sunglasses, there are many designer sun glasses to choose from. The most well-known polarized fishing sunglasses are those made by Oakley and Hobie. Both have excellent quality lenses that are very durable and able to withstand hard knocks. They are scratch and shatter resistant and they are not just for fishing. No matter what type of outdoor activity you engage in, wearing sunglasses with polarized lenses is really beneficial for your eyes.

The name fishing sun glasses was applied to polorozed fishing sunglasses because they became the favorite of fishermen. They found that with the reduced glare on sunny days, they could keep track of their lures in the waster much easier. Now these sun glasses have become really popular for other sports such as golfing and snowboarding.

The polarized lenses in fishing sunglasses contain vertically oriented polarizers. Since light reflects horizontally, this vertical polarizing ability neutralizes the glare and protects your eyes. Polarized fishing sunglasses also help you to see better in bright light, but if you look at a computer screen when wearing these sun glasses some of the displays on the screen may actually become invisible.

Polorized fishing sunglasses have also become known as sports sunglasses because of their popularity among players of most major sporting events. In protecting your eyes from the UV rays of the sun, fishing sunglasses are way ahead of ordinary lenses. The color tint in these sunglasses also has an effect on the clarity of your vision. This is really a matter of personal taste and you would have to see what color you like best.

Getting the fishing sunglasses you need for the next big fishing trip with your buddies is not as hard as you think. Most of the designers of sunglasses have an online presence or have authorized online dealers where you can place your order. By ordering your polarized fishing sun glasses online, you will also get them much cheaper. Why not buy a pair for your buddy while you’re at it?

You need proper fishing sunglasses when on the water.

Essential ingredients for an anti-aging formula

Each of us really has two ages: our chronological age and our body's age. Our genes may contribute to our aging process, but it is our lifestyles that can really cause us to accelerate aging. By changing our habits and consuming an anti-aging formula, we can no only stop the aging process, but we can actually reverse it.

When we're in the market for anti-aging products, though, how do we tell the best from the rest? After all, there are any number of vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, herbs, minerals, and antioxidants that are bandied about as the Fountain of Youth. Here are essential ingredients that you should look for in any anti-aging supplement:

Essential Fatty Acids

Essential fatty acids (EFAs) greatly contribute to reversing the effects of aging. They act on many of the body's systems, including the metabolism, nervous system, joints, and immune system. Because they help maintain cell membranes and increase the body's intake of oxygen, they can even act as an "anti-wrinkle" formula. They also have significant cardiovascular benefits.

Unfortunately, our bodies can't manufacture essential fatty acids, so we must consume them. The best supplements contain flaxseed, which contains the Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids elcosapentoenoic acid, alfa-linolenic acid, docosahexoenoic acid, and gamma-linolenic acid. An anti-aging natural supplement should also contain oleic acid, an Omega 9 fatty acid.

Minerals

A good anti-aging formula will contain trace amounts of minerals. Gold, for example, helps boost the immune system and shore up brain function and the nervous system. Some people report that gold also enhances their mood. Similarly, the human body needs copper for a variety of functions, including keeping connective tissues healthy, maintaining the metabolism, and in keeping the nervous system humming along. Chromium is also essential, in that it helps regulate blood sugar by processing carbohydrates and fats. Likewise, manganese helps ensure proper growth, bone and cartilage formation, and brain function. Moreover, manganese is a wonderful antioxidant formula; it has any number of properties that fight free radicals and the damage that free radicals cause.

Plants and Herbs

There are several plants and herbs that, when combined with other ingredients, contribute greatly to an anti-aging supplements. Alfalfa, for example, is a good source of many of the vitamins and minerals necessary to keep the body's systems functioning correctly. Olive leaf extract can help boost the immune system, while pumpkin seed has natural anti-inflammatory properties. Milk thistle is a strong antioxidant, and can also help with liver function, and astragalus root can help ward off colds and heal wounds and injuries.

The bottom line is that our genes aren't necessarily our destiny. When we make a conscious choice to lead a healthy lifestyle, and take a good anti-aging formula, our body's "age" can actually be younger than our chronological age. A younger body means a better quality of life - something that each of us should strive for.

Discover the real costa brava

The Costa Brava, part of the coastal region of Cataluсa, in the northeast of Spain, extends along 125 km of stunning coastline, from the resort of Blanes, in the south, to the French border. While the region is well known for its big resorts like Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar, and Estartit, which cater for mass tourism, there are still many unspoilt and beautiful places to stay. This is especially true along the north of the Costa Brava, where you’ll find places such as Tamariu and Cadaquиs.

If you avoid the larger, crowded beaches, you’ll discover many small, charming resorts and villas tucked away in picturesque, whitewashed villages. These are often perched above secluded, scenic coves, and are bounded by wooded hillsides and rolling vineyards – ideal places to stay when exploring this region renown for its extraordinary natural beauty and cultural heritage.

The best time to visit the Costa Brava is during May and June, when the resorts and villas are less crowded and temperatures are in the mid 70s. September is also a good time, but the weather can sometimes be rainy.

Heading north from Barcelona, you’ll encounter beautiful beaches, warm seas, small sandy bays, and quaint little fishing villages. Apart from the beaches and coastal scenery, the region has a highly rated, distinctive cuisine, several natural parks, a rich Roman civilization heritage, and museums featuring many of Spain’s famous artists. If you’re looking to give the crowds a miss, make an effort to visit some of these delightful places.

Tamariъ is a lovely whitewashed village that overlooks a small cove with startling blue waters, set around with pink rocks. The restaurants along the promenade offer delicious grilled fish, paella and tapas, and local wines. There’s no nightlife to speak of, since the only resort closes at 11pm, which makes this a destination for those who appreciate quiet evenings, great seafood, and beautiful surroundings.

Backed by orange cliffs and wooded hills, Alguablava is a small traditional Costa Brava village with an immaculate sandy beach and the sea here is a particularly intense cobalt blue. Popular with older couples and young families, the nightlife is minimal, since the restaurants and bars tend to shut in the evenings. The town’s two hotels have excellent restaurants.

The coves between Aiguablava and Sa Riera, are among the Costa Brava’s most beautiful. Take a short drive inland to visit the medieval hilltop town of Begur, which lies in a semicircle around an imposing 15th-century castle, with five huge towers. The castle was occupied during the War of Independence. The narrow, winding streets end at the main square, where there are plenty of good restaurants.

Empъries is a fascinating archaeological site, just five minutes’ drive from L’Escala. First settled by the Phoenicians, then the Greeks and Romans, this was once a thriving city, founded early in the 6th century BC. Its ruins include temples, streets, shops, and the remains of villas and mosaic floors. In front of the ruins is a lovely duned beach with shallow water and soft sand.

To reach the secluded town of Cadaquиs, you will have to drive along a steep road that winds through rolling hills toward the sea. At the coast, lines of old whitewashed, blue-shuttered houses stretch along the beautiful main bay, and the beach here is small and pebbly, with lots of boats coming and going. Restaurants, cafes, boutiques and galleries line the waterfront. Art lovers are well catered for here – the Perrott-Moore Museum displays a collection of Dali’s graphic art, and the municipal Museu d’Art exhibits works by the locals, as well as paintings by Toulouse-Lautrec and others

Caravan holidays travel and freedom

If you like to travel but you like even more the feeling of freedom, the solution is obvious: a caravan. Long ago travelling by caravan meant giving up your comfort, nowadays this is not an issue. The 'home on wheels' gives you the wonderful feeling of freedom and security unique as well as all the comfort you need.

The desire for freedom, the atmosphere associated with the caravan hitched up to the back of the car and the smell of food cooked in the warm air of a beach campsite are the elements that make people love this way of holidaying and travelling.

No matter if the taste for travelling by caravans was raised by the memories of the excitement of arriving at the campsite when you were a child or by the need of coming back to the roots when people where travelling free, the enthusiasm of caravanners is infectious. The caravan offers a return to simpler holiday pleasures.

By returning to the origins of caravans and caravanning, you can find this way of travelling at gypsies and showmen who spent most of their lives in horse drawn caravans. Another historic fact for the story of caravans is that the world's first leisure caravan was built by the Bristol Carriage Company in 1880 for Dr. W. Gordon-Stables. It was an 18 ft design, based upon their Bible Wagons, which the Doctor named "Wanderer".

Now anybody can buy a modern caravan. Of course there are different sizes, from tiny two-berth caravans with no toilet and only basic kitchen facilities, to large, twin-axle, six-berth caravans with all the luxuries of a four-star hotel.

In the last 2-3 years the popularity of caravans and caravanning increased in the UK, maybe due to the excellent summer weather, the fear of travelling abroad due to worries over terrorism, large increases in house prices, which provided people with the ability to raise capital by re-mortgaging their homes or just the need for a simpler holiday and more freedom. No doubt one of the reasons for the growth in popularity of caravanning has also been enhanced by the improvements in quality and facilities making caravan holidays possible at any time of the year not just summer months.

The features of a typical mid-range, modern caravan should be: Gas/Electric powered refrigerator, Gas/Electric powered stove, oven and grill, Gas/Electric powered water heater, one or more beds, some of which double-up as daytime seating, electricity supplied by battery or external hookup, toilet with removable disposal tank and flush-water tank, shower, Radio, TV aerial/satellite dish. They may also contain the following: Air, External barbecue points, Tow hitch stabilizers, CD players, awning or screen room, clothes washer and dryer, microwave.

Visiting the tuscany umbria border area of italy

Visiting the Tuscany and Umbria border Region

South eastern Tuscany meets its smaller neighbour Umbria, on Umbria’s north eastern border. The border area of Tuscany and Umbria in Italy is a wonderful place to stay as the visitor is able to visit the many cities and towns of the two regions while staying in one of the most picturesque areas the world has to offer and enjoying one of its greatest cuisines. The area is largely rural, the main crops are sunflowers, maize, olives, vines and tobacco which is being phased out. Modernity has been slow to reach this area and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, many visitors feel as if they had stepped back in time 30 or 40 years. Staying in this area you are within 90% of UNESCOs world art treasures: Rome and Florence are within two hours drive and one must not forget the important art works of nearer towns such as Arezzo, Siena, Perugia and Assisi. Apart from their art treasures these towns are places everyone enjoys visiting. All have their own architectural delights and meandering lanes and interesting shops and restaurants. Also worth visiting are the Tuscan towns of ; Cortona and Sansepolcro and the Umbrian towns of Gubbio, Citta di Castello, Todi and Orvieto. Lovers of ceramics will also want to visit Deruta famous for its production of some the world’s finest majolica.

Wine lovers are also in for a treat as many great wines are found in this area. Although Chianti is not strictly on the Tuscany Umbria border it is only a short drive. The brunellos of Montalcino and Vino Nobile of Montepulciano are found in this area.

There is a wide choice of accommodation available for those wishing to come to this area of Italy. Agriturismi offering either self-catering apartments or B&B type accommodation have sprung up everywhere. A popular choice for the visitor to this area of Tuscany and Umbria is to rent a self-catering villa, farmhouse or apartment through a rental agency. With a rental agency one can be sure that the house or apartment has been properly scrutinised and is priced fairly to reflect its quality, situation and accessibility. Farmhouses, villas and apartments with or without swimming pools are all available. If one wishes to stay in a country property in this area car hire is almost essential. Public transport in the rural areas of Tuscany and Umbria although reliable, is sparse. Most villages have a bus service once a day, relying upon this creates a lack of flexibility. Many of the farmhouses and villas for holiday rental are on hillsides a good walk from a main road. Often vacation rental houses in Tuscany and Umbria are reached along gravel roads or “strade bianche” . City inhabitants are often alarmed at these gravel roads but after the initial drive along them the nerves are soon overcome.

Please visit tuscanyumbria. com to find a rental property for your holiday in the

Tuscany or Umbria regions of Italy.

The world s best chocolate comes from

You know it’s addictive. You know that it can be fattening. You know that it contains loads of sugar. Has that stopped you? Of course not! It’s chocolate we’re talking about here! Who can give it up? Chocolate is the favorite vice of both young and old. There are so many types out there. You can find practically any kind of chocolate to satisfy even the most finicky among us. Undoubtedly, the worshippers at the altar of chocolate are a vocal bunch. Ask anyone where the best chocolate in the world come from and you’ll get a variety of opinions, but most will agree that Belgian chocolate is among, if not the, best.

Belgian chocolate, as we know it today, evolved during the 19th century, but chocolate itself had been present in Belgium for roughly three centuries already. Today, there are many major brands of Belgian chocolate including Guylian, Cфte d’Or and the exquisite Godiva chocolates. Even Leonidas, which is considered to be the cheapest out of all the major brands of Belgian chocolate, has a vast following worldwide.

This can be attributed to the quality of Belgian chocolate, but also the variety available. Unlike many other types, which stick to popular combinations of caramel, raisins and a few classes of nuts, Belgian chocolate displays practically every edible combination possible. Just go to the online catalogue of any big brand. You’ll see sections for truffles, nuts, fruits, white chocolate and a host of other categories. If you can’t find something you like, then you don’t really love chocolate

The ‘melt-in-your-mouth’ consistency of Belgian chocolate has made it a favorite for use in chocolate fountains. This is the latest craze at parties, weddings and many other social events. Chocolate fountains are essentially devices for heating chocolate, which is then transported vertically before flowing over tiers for a waterfall effect. Belgian chocolate is usually high in cocoa butter, giving it the naturally wonderful consistency that is recommended for chocolate fountains.

Chocolate fountains are also a lot easier to obtain than a traditional wedding cake. There’s no need to pay someone tons of money for an intricate design and you don’t have to worry about anything falling apart on the big day. A growing number of catering companies offer chocolate fountains as an alternative and they’re usually a big hit with guests, who can unleash their inner child by dipping strawberries, marshmallows and anything else you give them, in the cascading Belgian chocolate.

It takes credit to build credit

Using a credit card wisely is an important step in building a good credit rating. If you're trying to re-build your credit or if you're young and just starting out, pay close attention the next time you receive a new card offer in the mail. When you're trying to build a positive credit history for yourself, using the right credit card makes sense. Making small purchases and then making your payments on time each month is a simple, reliable way to build an outstanding credit report.

What to Look For On a Credit Card Application

If you receive a credit card application that appears to offer a low monthly interest rate, don't make a decision until you turn it over and closely examine the Disclosure Box. In it you'll find a more important measure of credit terms - the Annual Percentage Rate, or APR. By federal law, the Disclosure Box will also tell you whether or not the card has what is called a grace period - a number of days, usually 25, until your purchase starts to accrue finance charges. If a card has a reasonable grace period and you pay off your balance at the end of each billing cycle, you won't have to pay finance charges. It isn't difficult to find credit cards that offer these grace periods, so if the Disclosure Box doesn't declare one then throw the application in the trash and look for a better offer.

If you don't have any credit history at all, a credit card company won't want to give you a very high credit limit, but that's probably best when you're just starting out. You don't want to be tempted to go into serious debt with your very first credit card.

Calculate Your Monthly Finance Charges

Ideally you want to pay off your balance each month to avoid paying any finance charges, but when that isn't possible it's important to know the actual cost of the items you purchase. The annual percentage rate, divided by 12 months, gives you the periodic rate that will be applied to your outstanding balance each month. You can estimate what your monthly finance charge will be by multiplying the periodic rate times the outstanding balance. It may sound complicated at first, but taking the time to learn this simple equation can make a big difference in how you use your credit card.

When you're able to see how much you actually spend on an item that you don't pay off at the end of the month, it might help you to resist the temptation to over-use your card. An item that you want to buy might be on sale at the time you purchase it, but if you don't pay off your balance at the end of the month then those finance charges can dramatically increase the actual amount you'll end up paying.

Use Your Credit Card as a Tool

Credit cards are only one of the tools available to help you build a positive credit history. Making on-time payments for other forms of credit, such as rent and utilities, are also important. Depending on your situation, within 1-2 years your credit rating will be improved enough that you no longer need to use your card for new purchases to maintain your good credit. Use these tools wisely, and they'll help build your financial future!

Bankrupcy tips - work on rebuilding your credit - part 2

Ah yes, the 800-pound gorilla that you would have to take on – rebuilding your credit. Fortunately for you, filing for bankruptcy does not have quite the same social and financial stigma it once did ten, maybe twenty years ago. 'The purpose of filing is a safety valve,” says Roger M. Whelan, resident scholar of the American Bankruptcy Institute, a nonprofit professional organization. 'Thank God, the day in which it was like wearing a blazing star on your forehead is over.'

But rebuilding your credit is the double-edged sword of post-bankrupcy life. You have gotten to where you are now because you mismanaged your credit. However, this does not mean that you would have to steer clear from credit from now on. At first, you may have to, because you are given little choice on the matter. But sooner or later, you find that you have to get credit to rebuild your financial life.

So what are the rules? There are no rules; that’s the best part about it. It does not matter how you do it or how fast. The factors can vary widely from the kind of resources you have and the type of bankruptcy you filed for. For instance, if you filed under a Chapter 13 bankruptcy, the bankruptcy will stay in your credit for five to seven years. Whereas, if you filed under Chapter 7, the bankruptcy could stay longer in your credit report – say, up to ten years. During that period, it is going to be very, very difficult for you to get credit, let alone work on rebuilding yours from bad to good. And yet, rebuild you must, if you want to get back in the financial game.

Now, if you have a high dollar income, then obviously you are going to have a slightly better edge over the rest. But just slightly. If you managed to hang onto your house, paying your mortgage on time will improve your credit report. But remember that 'many apartments don’t report to credit bureaus, so those payments will keep a roof over your head but won’t help you rebuild your credit,' warns John Ulzheimer, business development manager for MyFico. com, a division of Fair Isaac Corp., the company that developed credit scoring.

Ironically enough, while Chapter 7 filers usually have a hard time getting approved for new credit, they are also usually the ones that have a better chance at rebuilding their credit. Henry Sommer, an attorney and author of 'Consumer Bankruptcy: The Complete Guide to Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Personal Bankrupcy' says that 'while you’re in a Chapter 13 (reorganization), your options are somewhat limited in terms of credit.' That’s because you cannot really apply for new credit without getting the court’s permission first.

On the other hand, under a Chapter 7, you are given more freedom in that area since all your debts are discharged. The sooner your debts are discharged, the sooner you can get to working on repairing your credit.

Bankruptcy Tips #2: Adopt a Positive Attitude and Show What You have Learned

Experts on bankruptcy insist that attitude and persistence can make a difference on your life after filing for a Chapter 7 or Chapter 13. 'The consumer who’s going to recover faster is the consumer who jumps back in,' says Ulzheimer. 'Financial capacity is one thing,' says Tahira K. Hira, a professor at Iowa State University who specializes in consumer economics and family finance. 'Mental or attitudinal capacity is the other thing.'

So being positive can make a whole world of difference. '...If you build a savings account, carry no debts and have an emergency fund, you’re saying, ‘Look, I can control my behavior,' Hira adds. 'It depends on how good a salesperson you are and how good your behavior has been.' And, of course, by behavior, she means your financial behavior or how you carry yourself around expenses and financial obligations. 'Pay your bills on time' is the name of the game. It is also incidentally the easiest way to show to your lenders that you have learned from your past financial mistake and are making every effort never to fall into that trap again. In short, you’ve got to be a model citizen in terms of financial management. Can you handle it? Of course, you can! And the only rule to follow is this: Shop for lenders.

'There will be a price attached,' warns Hira, 'which is higher interest.' This gives you all the more reason to be discriminating when choosing lenders. Don’t just jump at the first credit opportunity thrown your way only to find that the interests are punishing. Don’t get hard-balled into paying for high interest rates when you can get virtually the same loan for lower interest. Compare lenders. Five internet marketing strategies proven to work

There are so many different internet marketing strategies and products online that if can be difficult to know the best one to invest in to ensure your online business success.

The new internet marketing strategy for some is to create a product telling people how to make money doing something without the author having actually made money doing it themselves.

Even worse with the huge number of private label right products available where you can create yourself as an instant author simply by adding your name to the front of the eBook you can never really tell whether the author has actually made money or not and who’s going to ask!

That might seem a little cynical, but it is true that hosts of self-proclaimed experts are willing to offer you their special “insider secrets” and “millionaire strategies” for internet marketing. Whilst some of the information and programs are valuable others are filled with exaggerations or simple restatements of principles already proven successful.

In order to separate the wheat from the chaff and to understand how to put new information to use as part of your marketing strategy, it pays to understand a few of the proven techniques for producing significant sales figures.

Below are five internet marketing strategies worth considering that have proven to work time and time again.

Selling to the List

As a marketer it is important that you spend time creating a targeted opt-in list of potential, current and former buyers and prospects that you communicate with and provide value to on a regular basis.

As well as providing value you also teach your list how to buy from you by offering a P. S. with a product link or including a product that is relevant to the information you have provided as a “for more information buy this product” type recommendation.

Sometimes when there is a product launch or special promotion you will actually just send an email to your list relevant to that product.

This tried and true method never seems to fail. The conversion rate from lists is very high, as all people on it are pre-qualified prospects for the materials being offered.

The expression “the money is in the list” is an internet marketing mantra because of this fact.

Offering a Bonus

Internet marketers learned long ago that customers love getting something for nothing.

The “free bonus” has developed because of that longing on the part of consumers. Instead of simply selling the primary product, the marketer bundles it with one or more other products that are offered along with the main item of interest at no additional charge.

A good free bonus offer can turn a mediocre campaign into a massive success. Bonuses are used frequently by the most recognized names in the industry. That is not a coincidence. They work.

Back End – Cross Selling and Upselling

Successful marketers don’t let products get into their customers’ hands until they are equipped with a potential back-end moneymaker. The back end of your product and/or business is the area after someone has bought something.

Back end in an ebook could involve adding a series of affiliate links embedded into an ebook, a special offer coupon for another project, a chance at a one-time deal for another purchase or something else. The idea is to give the product residual value so that it continues to sell while meeting the customer’s needs at the same time.

Cross selling is the process of saying “you bought that so you might also like to consider buying this” It provides you with a way to promote similar products to your customers.

Upselling is the process of saying “you bought this for that price, how about buying this package that includes what you already paid for plus these other things”

It’s like being super sized in Macdonalds and is an excellent internet marketing strategy that has become an essential component for all successful internet marketers.

Information Only Websites/blogs

Some people just want information, they want to find out how to care for their new kitten or places to visit when traveling to Australia. The most that they require is to read some great information at their leisure without being sold something.

Of course that doesn’t mean you don’t have products for sale on the website or blog because you do. An image strategically placed that will catch their attention.

You also fill these information only websites and blogs with Google Adsense to help you monetize them for extra profits.

I once met a marketer who makes a lot of money using Google Adsense and he said it is all about volume. Having one information only blog on golf will not exactly make you a six figure monthly income in the short term but having 100 blogs out there, all providing information on different areas will definitely help your online profits!

Use a linking strategy

One of the most important things I learnt during an internet marketing conference I attended in Atlanta was to get noticed by the search engines by developing a linking strategy.

One way links is the best online strategy there is because your site is seen as an “expert or authority” on the subject if all these different websites are linking in to you.

A great way to do this is to have a number of websites online that are hosted on different hosting platforms, which all link into one main website. They can be blogs or websites but the important thing is to ensure they are on all separate hosting accounts.

Its important that you don’t do two way linking by linking all your websites/blogs to each other, but that you have all 15 (or more or less but at least 10) linking to one main site that you want to promote.

This is great if you want to set up the information only sites mentioned above.

Better still, if you have friends who are willing to link to you then get them to do that and use one of your 15 information sites to link to them but not the main one you are looking to promote.

Keep your eyes open for new strategies and idea. The internet marketing world is active and always in a state of flux but it is still important to approach new options with an understanding of what has worked in the past. There really are very few new ideas anyway just re-written versions of classic internet marketing strategies that work.

Techniques like those listed above are proven means of improving sales figures. This list, obviously, is by no means exhaustive but it does demonstrate that there are known and tested systems for marketing success.

An in-depth review of popular air purifiers

There are at least fifteen major brands promoting air purifiers. Below you will find condensed air purifier reviews for four of the most popular brands:

Oreck Air Purifiers

The Oreck Super Air 8 Air Purifier uses four different technologies to clear your air. The pre-filter catches large particles such as dust and pollen. The charcoal filter captures some of the smaller particles and chemicals that irritate the eyes and throat. Then the electrostatic precipitator electronically charges small particles with a negative ion, and immediately a collector plate magnetically grips the charged particles. Simultaneously, the Oreck air purifier generates negative ions and sends them out into the air, causing pollutants to drop right out of the air.

Ionic Breeze Air Purifiers

The Sharper Image Ionic Breeze GP uses a combination of electrostatic precipitator, negative ion generator, and an ultraviolet light. The ultraviolet light is a new improvement to the unit, which works to kill bacteria and viruses. The Ionic Breeze air purifier generates high amounts of harmful ozone, so make sure you place the unit at least two to ten feet away from your bed and furniture.

Hunter Air Purifiers

The Hunter Quietflo 3400 and the Hunter HEPAtech 30375 both use a carbon prefilter to capture large air pollutants. They both come equipped with a “Change Filter” light to minimize guesswork. Either can be operated manually or set on a timer. The 30375 includes a built-in ion generator.

Austin Air Purifiers

Austin Air offers five types of air purifiers. They come in two sizes: 15 pounds (the 400 series) and 6 pounds (the 200 series). They use a carbon and zeolite prefilter in combination with a HEPA filter. It is a sturdy-looking machine made of metal, for those who are sensitive to the smell of plastic.

Don t let rates get you lock it

When interest rates begin to go up on mortgages, having your rate locked in can really protect you until closing.

The average rate on a 30-year fixed rate mortgage has risen almost 1% in the past year. While the rise has been mostly gradual, many home buyers can't risk having their rate go up any between the application and closing on a home. They are already stretched as far as they can go to get into the home.

When you don't lock in your rate, it is floating with the market. A traditional rate lock is the lender's guarantee that your mortgage will have the quoted interest rate, points and other terms at closing.

A rate lock is usually set for a specific amount of time. If the home purchase isn't complete within the time limit, your rate will unlock. Then your interest rate can go up.

If you qualify for a given rate as the maximum mortgage amount you can receive, you are walking a tight rope. If interest rates rise before closing, you may have to add more of a downpayment or lose your financing. A rate lock will protect you from this.

When you lock in your rate in a traditional rate lock, if interest rates go down, you are stuck unless you pay additional costs. Some lenders offer "float down" options that will let your rate lower once if rates fall. But many of them will stick you back up to the higher rate if the rates rise.

The key to a rate lock is ensuring that you have everything in writing. Verbal locks aren't legal. If the lender says the rate is locked, make sure you get it in writing.

You should also pay attention to the pre-set time limit for the lock. In some cases, the lender may automatically extend your lock, but that doesn't always happen. Many will charge you a fee to extend the lock, often a percentage of the loan amount.

The rate lock contract should lock in as many costs as possible. This includes not only interest rates, but also points. The agreement should include you name, the lock's effective date, the agreement date, the lock cost, the rate and the loan terms that are locked in. There should also be an expiration date and time and any options upon expiration of the lock.

As soon as you see the desired rate for your mortgage, you should lock it in. This is usually found when you apply for the mortgage.

Before you set the lock-in period, make sure you have an accurate estimate on how long it will take to process the loan and close on the home. Once locked in, make sure that you push the lender and others to close on time. You can help by quickly returning phone calls and turning in any necessary paperwork as soon as possible.

The lock will cost you money. Some lenders will even charge you an up-front fee even if the loan doesn't close. Others charge a flat fee at closing. Some lenders charge a percentage of the mortgage amount, a fraction of a percentage point or a slightly higher interest rate for the rate lock. The cost varies depending on the options you choose and the mortgage program you qualify for.

Don't let rising interest rate surprise you at closing. Lock in your rate and worry about other things instead.

Baby shower clip art finding online artwork for your baby shower

As you're planning your baby shower, you'll probably want to find some great baby shower artwork to use for various things. Primarily, you should know what type of clip art you are looking for. As in this case, when making a baby shower thank you card or invitation, the clip art that is needed is a baby shower clipart, so this is the type that you should look for in the net.

Clip art is all about copying and pasting the pre-existing drawings or images available in the net. These are illustrations that are already for the most part, found in certain books having already entered into the public site for that actual purpose.

There are limitless logos, mascots, invitations, identity and business cards and letterheads that are freely available. Moreover, there are no license term hassles. The electronic clip art that is available on the net is an extension of such a concept.

In clipart, all images are converted into digital form drawings on a low resolution being used for decorating and enhancing E-greetings and Invitations.

Clipart, are intended for defining and outlining digitized illustrations and drawings, not photography. There are various files that come in many sizes, shapes and formats. Some of the prevalent formats are TIFF, PICT, Paint, GIF, EPS and JPEG. When in doubt what format to use, choose to use PICT, as this format is more or less compatible with almost all programs, thus can adjust easily to another format type.

The standard clipart is generally not a very precise and detailed drawing; the majorities are images or illustrations having very little detail or are called outline drawings. With this, the standard clipart is often use on documents in the web.

One does not need any artistic skills for this. You can choose to purchase a better featured clip art from the web; though it isn’t necessary, as there are countless of free clipart provided for you in the net. You just have to know where to look.

The printer will use less ink, and you will see the actual result, making sure that everything is at the right place, before proceeding to the final printing of your very own baby shower invitation.

Females pump up that butt

I have noticed at the gym and on the internet discussion boards, that many females don't get the respect of hard-training athletes like most men do. I would love to blame it all on you guys out there for being sexist and disrespectful, but unfortunately, I feel if we as females don't get the respect we want from our male gym counterparts, it is largely our own fault. So many women have fallen victim to the mind set that we don't have to train hard to get ""Toned"" Or maybe most think there are certain exercises that are MAN exercises and there are those that are ""Girl"" exercises. Lets get something out of the way here - when it comes to changing our bodies men and women are the same. We can make our fat bigger or smaller, and we can make our muscles bigger or smaller - that's about it. Men have the ability to do this on a much larger scale due to the hormonal differences. Women, if you think you are going to train your arms heavy and hard and wake up one day and have biceps like Arnold , you're not.

The ""Toned"" look that we all desire, is a result of increased muscle mass, and decreased body fat. Our muscles usually have to get BIGGER to achieve this look. In this article I am going to share some of my views on how to get that athletic, yet ""Feminine"" figure that so many of us are after.

First off, what do we as a society look at and consider, ""Feminine?"" 36-24-36? Maybe not those numbers exactly, but that type of body shape still holds true with most. Now how do you make this athletic-looking, without detracting from the female shape? Each person is different of course, but choosing certain body parts to emphasize over others can really help here. For example, it seems acceptable for a woman to have very round and shapely deltoids, but if the biceps and forearms as well as traps are too developed, it's seen as ""Manly."" So wisely choosing which body parts to maximize and which ones to minimize can go a long way. Here are my three key principles for looking strong, athletic, and yes, like a woman!

1) Maximize your shoulder to waist ratio. For those that have teeny-tiny waistlines, this could be very simple. Maybe just training deltoids first in your schedule is all that is needed. For those of us that are not 24"" or less in the waist, this might take quite some effort. I feel deltoids MUST be trained first, very hard, and frequently to get the desired look. Back width also plays a big role in making the waist seem smaller than it really is, so it is a close second. Keep in mind that this part of it is exactly the same as what a bodybuilder would try to do, so one shouldn't get caught thinking they have to do ""Girl"" exercises, or feel restrained from doing heavy weights. I have personally been as high as 55 lb dumbbells for both overhead presses and laterals trying to get my delts to grow. I also don't understand why most females don't strive to do wide grip chin ups, other than they are hard. Don't shy away from hard heavy exercises for delts and back.

""We are not going to get those perky round glutes by doing leg kickbacks and butt squeezes!""

2) Pump up that butt! How many women have said in the same breath ""I don't want my butt to get any bigger, but I don't like the way it sags."" As a woman I can tell you they mean they don't want their rear to get any""Fatter"",and ""Bigger"" means ""Fatter"" in their minds. So many women have given in to the idea that it is just a genetic trait that can't be changed. Well guess what? Glutes are just like biceps - you guys out there know if you want impressive arms, you have to train progressively on certain exercises and force the muscles to develop. Girls, it's the same for us. We are not going to get those perky round glutes by doing leg kickbacks and butt squeezes! We have to do exercises that allow for progression in weight and reps both. If you've been doing say walking lunges with no weight for the past year and still aren't happy with the way things look from behind, you need more stimulation. Add some weight to the exercise and PROGRESS! You want the glutes to get bigger while simultaneously stripping the fat away. Have you ever seen a girl with a really tight butt and think its still too big? Probably not.

""I believe you are what you eat, and someone that eats 2000 calories of mostly protein, healthy fats and complex carbs, will look much different than one that eats 2000 calories of crap-carbs and greasy fats.""

3) Control your bodyfat! I will admit that a woman who is 20% bodyfat with no muscle, looks smaller and better in clothes than one with the same amount of fat and much more muscle. To have that athletic look, most of us end up in the 12-15% range. I will cover in detail my methods of fat-loss in up coming articles, but in a nutshell, I will tell you to eat your protein and veggies. I believe you are what you eat, and someone that eats 2000 calories of mostly protein, healthy fats and complex carbs, will look much different than one that eats 2000 calories of crap-carbs and greasy fats. I don't believe its about the numbers, its about the quality of the foods. Cardio is also a key element in bodyfat reduction and control. This is where people differ the most I've found. Some women can get by with 20-30 minutes 3-4 times per week. I often have to do 6-7 days a week and usually for 45-60 minutes each time. I have trained some girls that have had to do double sessions 7 days a week to achieve 12% body fat. So go with what works for you and your body type.

I hope you ladies reading this are ready to go to the gym and hit it hard and heavy. Keep in mind that heavy is a relative term, if 5 lb dumbbell presses are all you can truly do, push them hard and you will get stronger. In the process you will earn the respect of those around you that are doing the same. It is not where you are at now, its about where you are going! And I hope that the guys reading this will show some gym etiquette to those ladies that may not be as strong as you, but pushing just as hard to get better.

How to transform even the most basic site into a membership site

If you are like a lot of other Internet marketers, you may be considering a membership site set up for your sales activity. And if you follow the trends of a lot of Internet marketers, you will probably begin looking around right away at membership software, scripts and third party solutions, understandably, to compare features and benefits across the board of all your options and pricing ranges.

But what will probably happen to you is what happens to many other Internet marketers as well:

1. You will more than likely be comparing apples to oranges so it will be difficult to determine which solution is best.

2. You will probably decide to try one solution after another, tire-kicking to discover the real value in each package and learn how it works in conjunction with your products or services.

3. You will more than likely end up having spent a lot of time and money testing and trying a variety of solutions, then need to stop and put something in place to get your program off the ground and running.

Well, that buck can stop there!

Instead of going through those steps above, simply transform a basic site or an area of your website for a much easier, cheaper, quicker solution. Try this:

Subscription Website Checklist

_ When possible, instead of spending so much time learning the latest technology and Internet updates for great professional-looking membership websites, save all that for the professionals who prefer to delve into that realm and focus on your marketing, sales and other entrepreneurial activities. Seek an affordable website with a support team 24/7 that has password-protected pages for your member area or simply purchase an inexpensive SSL (Secure Socket Layer) certificate to password-protect a folder on your website.

_ Find a company that offers a wide range of full-color professional website templates so that you can build fast and easy, skipping lengthy tech guides and loading steps to get your pages up and activated. The templates should be available in full color choices complete with a line of premium images for selection and loading to your site pages. Features should also include the ability to enter HTML or simply key in your information in text, plus some templates with CSS (Cascading Sites Sheet) web pages.

_ If you can find a package that offers special features like hosting flash, a forum and podcasts plus activating RSS (Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication) feeds and other popular tech tools, the more the merrier. That way your site can grow as your business grows, and you can add in whatever you like down the road.

_ In this mobile era, boasting the ability for your users to access your. mobi-compliant website is also a bonus feature.

_ Start small with only what you can handle in your membership site. There’s no need to have tons of tools plus loads of content and bonus goodies all at once. You can convert a simple folder or small site like: movingaheadmemberships. com quick and easy and end up with professional results that work well for your members and you.

To find the best features you can like those listed above, search your favorite search engines to find and interview website design and hosting companies using this handy Subscription Website Checklist. Then when you find a website company with a team to help you 24 / 7, let them do the work: provide quality website templates with plenty of advanced features and a professional hosting package – all at costs you can afford.

And make sure to find a place with packages that grow as your company grows. Then use the rest of your time wisely, growing your business with marketing and sales efforts, adding content to your membership area, networking on forums, etc.

And of course, don’t forget to relax and have fun once in awhile!

Seton home school

What is Seton Homeschooling? It's hard to keep up with the altogether too many types of "movements" encompassed with the ever-growing population of families who are homeschooling their kids. Some are associated with distinct systems of beliefs, some are affected with non-religions beliefs, and some are just there.

Seton Homeschooling is one of the categories of homeschooling that is confounded with a dogma. Seton Homeschooling is a very renowned form of Catholic homeschooling that was promoted by Dr. Anne Carroll. As is interchangeable with ample sections of homeschooling, Seton has its roots in a physical middle school that was suited to supply dads an option to people schooling in their home. Likewise, as is often the case, this educational facility increased in fondness and there are a larger number of families who assume their kids to go along with this school, so the school develop homeschooling material. This is exactly what took place with Seton Homeschooling. It became very popular and the school could not handle all of the students who wanted to attend and the parents all couldn't afford the tuituion.

As you very nimbly may be aware of, separate schools, such as Seton Junior Educational facilities, had extremely pricey tuition and the young people were separated from their families at a young age to live on the campus and come to the educational facility. As Seton began to advantage notoriety and their Catholic and school mastering reputation elevated, there were quite a few requests from moms who wanted their young people to solicit classes by correspondence. Seton began making the general studies available and now anymore they register almost 10,000 learners into their schools and several thousand more through homeschooling learners.

Seton believes that homeschoolers anymore are the leaders tomorrow and offers Catholic core curriculum for grades classroom through twelve. Their core curriculum places a premium attention on developing the youth's Catholic religious belief as skillfully as emphasizing works of Western Civilization.

Exploring the ruins of tulum

While Cancun is home to beautiful hotels, resorts and numerous attractions, the area surrounding the city is known for its wealth of Mayan ruins. About 2 hours south of the city rests one of the most beautiful ancient sites in Mexico, the ruins of Tulum. This beautiful site is one of the finest attractions for a Cancun vacation. Though smaller than the well-known Chichen Itza, Tulum’s majestic setting sets it apart. Perched above the Caribbean Sea on a rocky cliff, the ruins are simultaneously captivating and foreboding.

Founded in the early 1200s, the city of Tulum reached its zenith in the 1400s as a port city in a decentralized Mayan kingdom. After the Spanish came upon the settlement in 1518, the conquistadores spoke of Tulum in the same breath as Seville. Though Tulum certainly wasn’t as large as Seville, the Spaniards perceptions speak volumes about the splendor of the site. The Spanish would later occupy the city for 70 years until the settlement was abandoned.

As the city is protected by walls on three sides, the sea on the fourth, the approach to the site is an experience in itself. You’ll enter the site through a breach in one of these 16-foot walls. As you traverse the walkway across the top, you will notice that the wall once separated portions of the city. Beyond any defensive purpose, these walls divided the ceremonial and governmental sections of the city from the residential areas.

Directly in front of you, Tulum’s Castillo (Castle) towers above the other structures. Besides the remarkable view it offers, the Castillo probably served as both the community’s primary place of worship and a type of lookout or primitive lighthouse. At the entrance of the Castillo, a plaza dividing the structure breaks off into a pair of distinctive temples.

Veering to the left of this plaza, you will enter the Templo del Dios Descendente (Temple of the Descending God). The diving or descending god depicted as an upside-down figure above the entrance to the temple appears throughout the ruins of Tulum. Though the figure’s precise significance is unknown, it may be representative of the setting sun, rain or lightning. It is also believed that the character served as a god of bees, a theory stemming from the fact that honey was one of the Mayan kingdom’s most important exports.

On the opposite side of the Castillo plaza is the Templo de Las Series Iniciales (Temple of the Initial Series). The name of the temple derives from the discovery of a stela, or stone marker, bearing a date well before the foundation of the city, presumably brought to the city from another part of the Mayan kingdom.

When you’ve finished exploring the Castillo, two other temples await your visit. The Temple of the Frescoes features restored murals depicting Mayan Gods and symbols of nature's fertility such as rain, corn and fish. North of the Castillo, The Temple of the Winds served as a storm warning system. To this day, approaching storms send whistling sounds through the center of the structure.

To make your visit to Tulum as enjoyable as possible, here are some additional travel tips. The ruins are open from 8am to 5pm daily, but most tours don’t arrive until about 10am. Hence, if you are able, try to visit Tulum first thing in the morning before it get too hot and crowded.

When you arrive at the site, here are a few things to keep in mind to avoid any headaches. Before you get to the ruins you must pass through the visitor's center, a collection of shops and restaurants. From the visitor’s center, you can choose to take a 15 minute walk down the road or board the site’s shuttle for $2. If you have a video camera in tow, expect to pay a $4 fee. It also costs $4 to enter the site, but the fee is waived on Sunday.

Lastly, be wary of the guides roaming the grounds. Many may have official badges, but don’t be surprised if you’re subjected to strange lines about the Mayan kingdom’s connection to aliens. If you enjoy a good story, however, it might be worth the plunge.

A wonderful continent called africa

Africa is called the “Dark Continent” for its supposed mystery, but there is nothing mysterious about a destination site like this. You should definitely consider an Africa vacation.

Africa is probably the most diverse continent on the planet and a vacation there can hold just as much variety. No matter what you are looking for, an Africa vacation can fulfill all your trip desires.

We think of Africa first as a land of jungles and wild animals and that is certainly true. For an Africa vacation, you may want to consider some of the amazing safari adventures, which will take you to places that most people have only dreamed about. Imagine elephants and lions in the wild; that can be part of an Africa vacation. Although primitive in its beauty and feel, being on a safari does not mean living like an “animal”. Throughout the numerous game preserves and national parks, where you will see nature at its best, are also some of the finest accommodations in the world.

On your vacation, you can stay in guest lodges that rival anything in the cosmopolitan areas for luxury and service. Most of these venues will make you feel like you are a king or queen of all you survey, with excellent amenities you would not necessarily expect on an Africa vacation.

However, the jungles and savannas of Africa is only part of the picture. In South Africa, you can find hotels and resorts that rival any in Las Vegas or other showplace resorts. How about an Africa vacation that includes top line entertainment, casino gambling, unsurpassed beaches? All these are available for both singles and families, accommodating all types of budgets.

In the north, beautiful beach resorts dot the Mediterranean coast as well as the Red Sea. Here a vacation turns into a desert odyssey not unlike Palm Springs, California, except with miles of white sand beaches.

Africa is countless island resorts on the Indian Ocean too. An Africa vacation here could be a private bungalow at a small resort where fresh fish is caught for lunch literally outside the windows of your room. The waters in these areas are pristine and unspoiled, perfect for diving and sailing.

In the north west, Morocco and the Canary Islands beckon with a completely different atmosphere and style. In addition, an Africa vacation here on the Atlantic coast has a completely different environment and culture to experience. You might feel that you are in Monte Carlo or Cannes but with much less expense and a more relaxing atmosphere.

An Africa vacation can be just about what you want it to be, with a variety that you will not find anywhere else.

For or against wind farms

These will generate enough power to supply the average electricity needs of 8,500 homes in the local area. This wind farm is not situated out to sea but in the picturesque hills of the Saddleworth Moors and would be visible for miles around. Government targets state that 10% of the UK's energy should be supplied by renewable resources by 2010 and developments like the Saddleworth Moor turbines would contribute towards that total. Leading environmentalists from across the country have previously convened in Saddleworth for the first ever National Forum opposing the creation of wind farms on rural beauty spots.

World renowned TV botanist, Professor David Bellamy, joined former Downing Street press secretary, Sir Bernard Ingham and hundreds of activists at the National Wind Farm Group Conference. There were a total of representatives from over 50 environmental groups from across the country attending this event. It aimed to raise awareness about the perceived dangers of wind farms and bring environmental groups closer together in their fight against the government.

The Saddleworth Moors Action Group says the turbines would have a negative impact on a unique landscape. The group also insist their campaign is not prompted by "not in my backyard" sentiments, but through a genuine desire to preserve the character of the local area.

One could argue that the government is not bothered about the environment then they are continually financing the construction of coal fired power stations in the third world and building more airports and more motorways in Britain?

Are wind farms a concerted effort to save the environment or just another commercial money making scheme for the companies involved?

Luxury cruise vacations

Get up, go to work, go home, and go to bed. Repeat. Your lifestyle is a recipe for disaster. All work and no play make Johnny, and Jane, perfectly miserable.

When you've had enough of the rat race and just need to get away, a luxury cruise vacation is just the ticket. Luxury cruise vacations offer pure paradise for a week, a month or even six months. Nothing to do but lie back, relax and let the ocean carry you away.

Choosing to take a luxury cruise vacation is one of the easiest decisions you'll ever make. The tricky part is deciding when to leave, and when to come back. Chances are, you'll want to leave tomorrow and never return. Unfortunately we all have to return to reality at some point, but even a few days on a luxury cruise vacation is better than none at all.

Work with your travel agent in planning your departure and return dates. You'll be surprised at the difference a week can make in rates and availability. If cost is a factor, take advantage of off-season discounts and you can save a bundle. Booking well in advance can help you to save a few bucks. Adventurous types who are in a position to drop everything can sometimes catch a break with last-minute bookings.

Do i need a college degree

“I don’t think I’ll go to college.” How many times have we heard that line in TV shows and movies? Countless. But if parents can afford sending their students to colleges or universities, they do. Statistics show that those who pursue further studies after high school are more successful in the real world.

Most companies hire potential employees who have college diplomas. If they come from Ivy League universities, the better. They know there are some applicants who may not have the same education as those of the Harvard and Princeton graduates yet possess street skills. They are also hired, as long as they have certificates from colleges or an associate degree.

That is the exact reason why people are finding ways to afford colleges. Parents are already saving up while their children are still young. They apply for trust funds and education plans.

Unfortunately, some parents can't afford colleges. There are those who aspire to step into a college or a university, thus they make it happen themselves. They are working students.

There are also men and women in their mid 30s or 40s attending night classes to get a diploma or certificate. They know that this piece of paper is crucial in the professional world. It will give them an edge when they apply for a certain positon in a big company.

There is a demand for higher education. Whether it be from a private college, public university, vocational institution or community college, as long as the student has the papers showing that he pursued further studies, a business establishment is more interested with his potential.

“Why do I need a college degree?” This is the question most high school students ask. This question is often answered by the fact that men and women who went to college or obtained an education similar to it (associate degrees, night school, online degree, college or state campuses) earn more money than a high school graduate.

Imagine this. One year of college already empowers the individual to cash in more money each year than a person who completed all four years of high school.

So if you are thinking of pursuing a career, you must already save up for the future. Colleges take up a whole lot of preparation. If you have parents who can cash you on with this plan then you are lucky.

If not but you are determined, start handing out your resume to part time opportunities now. It’s an investment worth taking for a better future.

Methane and potential impacts on global warming

Methane is a gas found on most planets with atmospheres. In limited amounts, it isn’t a particularly problematic gas. In larger amounts, however, it can become a regulator of atmosphere temperatures.

Methane and Potential Impacts on Global Warming

Methane is fairly common gas found in nature. It is produced from both natural elements of the biomass cycle and artificial industrial sources. Methane is classified as a greenhouse gas and is believed to contribute to global warming.

Methane (CH4) is a problematic greenhouse gas for a variety of reasons. First, it has a long life once it is in the atmosphere, to wit, it will remain suspended in the upper atmosphere anywhere from nine to 15 years depending on climatic conditions. Second, methane is much more lethal when it comes to trapping heat in the atmosphere, being as much as 20 times better at doing the job than the much discussed carbon dioxide.

The unique chemical makeup of Methane is what makes it a problem. Once it gets situated in the upper atmosphere, it acts as a sponge for infrared radiation being reflected from the planet towards space. By doing so, it acts as a gas coat around the planet, heating us up as time passes. Since we can count on it sitting in the atmosphere for roughly 10 years, massive accumulations of methane can have a devastating impact over time.

There is nothing we can do to stop natural methane sources. On the industrial side, however, there are a lot of areas that can be addressed. The production of methane through our actions is primarily through natural gas, petroleum, agricultural, coal mining, waste water reclaiming and landfill systems. All produce methane to a certain degree, some on a very large scale.

Modifying our behavior on methane production is actually a win-win situation. Unlike carbon dioxide, methane can be used as an energy source in and of itself. The technology is complex and the gas can be unstable, but we have certainly accomplished far more difficult tasks. The bigger point is that we don’t have to stop any activity that produces methane, just modify such activities to make use of the methane.

Global warming is a controversial topic. There is little doubt it is occurring. The real question is what it will mean as temperatures increase. Nobody really seems to know. What is clear is our current climatic situation is fairly calm. If you agree, why risk moving to a more chaotic one?

How to start a small business and keep it going

All over the world, people are interested in making money for themselves. The main reason is that few people actually enjoy working for others and their ultimate dream is to make sure they are working for their own good rather then the good of someone else. For this they choose to go into business for themselves and this means the starting of a small business in one of the many arenas that are currently available. This is not the best idea in a lot of cases.

The fact is that more than ninety percent of all small businesses that are started each year will fail. This can cause a lot of financial hardship and a feeling of failure for the person. This is why it is so important to note that starting a small business is not at all easy. There are many factors that go into the startup and one should be prepared for some hard times ahead. While the feeling of greatness may be there when you consider the fact that you are on your own, there is also the feeling that there is nothing to fall back on in the end. If the business fails then it is your responsibility to make it happen all the way through when it comes to forming another income.

Starting a small business requires taking the most important steps. The first of which being deciding on the business that you will start and how well it will do in the current market. This is where so many people fail. They believe that the idea they have for a small business is the greatest thing since sliced bread when in all truth there is very little if any demand for the products or services that they plan to offer.

Before you decide on a business then you should take the time to do some research. Check out what is and isn’t available in the surrounding market. Once you have found something that is not readily available then you should take the time to determine if there is a high demand for such things. For instance, maybe you discover that there is no car wash within a decent range of driving in your area. This could mean something but what if the main source of transportation is the horse and buggy? Then you have something that is not in demand in the area even though it does not maintain any kind of presence. This is where you can do well with some very in depth research. Maybe ask around and see what other people believe as far as need. Their input could be invaluable.

Once you have devised the type of business you plan to start you need to set down a business plan. This is nothing more than a set of rules that will be the guide for your business. A business plan is something that most of the financial institutions in the world will want to see before they agree to any kind of financing. This will offer them a peace of mind when they are giving you large amounts of money to finance the operation.

All in all you will need to spend at least a couple of months in research before you venture out into the world with the plan.

5 easy steps to lower your auto insurance quote

It was not too long ago when contracts were made on a handshake and a promise. Individuals were not particularly concerned with things like insurance because they relied upon the goodwill of their neighbor to compensate them for wrongful damage. For a variety of reasons, including an increase in the speed and cost of auto wrecks, auto insurance soon became an important purchase for responsible individuals. Not long after, the federal government mandated that auto insurance be carried, at least minimally, by all car owners. The increase in the need for auto insurance over the last 10 years has led to increases in the complexity of insurance, while at the same time, amplifying the need to be more cost conscious in auto insurance purchases.

Buying auto insurance today requires as much dexterity as buying the automobile itself. It is important to know the factors that an auto insurance company considers when offering quotes. This will allow you, as the consumer, to know what steps you need to take in order to qualify for a lower quote. The five easy steps to a lower insurance quote are:

1. Portray yourself as a ‘safe’ candidate: Insurance companies are interested in managing risk. Consequently they offer drivers who are less likely to get into wrecks or at a minimum into wrecks of less severity, a lower insurance quote.

-Maintain a clean driving record, free of traffic violations or accident claims.

-Install anti-theft devices in your vehicle.

-Attend a Drivers Safety Training program.

-Buy a ‘safe’ vehicle. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety together collect information on safety related aspects of different vehicles. Buy an automobile that is officially designated as ‘safe’.

-Park your vehicle in a garage.

2. Show your Credit worthiness: As a risk management entity, insurance companies are also worried about getting paid on time. If you can show yourself to be credit worthy, there is less risk of you not making your payments on time, thus warranting a lower rate.

-Maintain a good credit score and clear up any errors on your credit.

-Cut down on the total number of outstanding credit cards to 2 or 3.

3. Practice Financial Wisdom: The way in which you structure and pay for your policy can lower the risk that an insurance company faces with respect to you as a customer. By taking steps to lower their risk, you receive a lower insurance quote and policy.

-Buy an annual policy instead of a six monthly coverage to get you a lower rate that remains the same for a year.

-Opt for automatic payment deductions from your bank account or your credit card to avoid getting charged for mail payments.

-Increase your deductibles on comprehensive and collision policies to reduce on the rates.

-Get loyalty discounts by buying your home and auto insurance from the same company.

4. Assess your Insurance Needs accurately: This is obvious, the more coverage you get the more it will cost you. Add-ons are killers in the insurance business, strip your policy down to just the minimum of what you need.

-If your vehicle is not used much or you have an old car with little market value, opt for minimum liability alone. It will cost you less.

-After fulfilling the legal mandate on auto insurance, insure according to your needs alone.

5. Other wise things that you can do: There are a number of other considerations that go into your insurance quote. Some of them are not reasonable steps to take, while others you can do with little effort which can translate into substantial savings.

-If your car is used only for a particular purpose, make your agent aware of it, as this will limit the cost.

-Students that make good grades are often eligible for a discount.

-Give up smoking; it can help you get better quotes.

-Change your occupation if you can help. A delivery boy carries a higher risk than a storekeeper.
